  1. Started by Kagzy,

Hi everyone can I get some help please? One of my pir sensors was faulty would randomly go off in the night, so I stupidly decided to change it myself with a new D20 one, I wired it up accordingly and now I noticed that non of the sensors in the house have the red led motion light blinking anymore, when I input the alarm code in the separate panel now all the zone lights light up red and it makes the beeping noise but the alarm won't set anymore. I've tried looking online but can not find anything, please help!

  3. Hi Just moved in and have noticed that the internal sounder only sounds when Full alarm is set and triggered. As far as I am aware, it should also sound when alarm is part set and triggered, i.e. when we are asleep upstairs. Is this a setting or a wiring issue? Thanks

Hello everyone, Hope you're getting along ok in these difficult times. I've been getting what seems to me to be an odd PSU fault for the last week (G244 with 2 x powered RIOs). In the unset state the keypad will randomly go into the alert state with the dreaded beep. On inputing the master code the screen shows the following fault: AC Fail PSU 103 which I assumed to be the PSU on the second RIO unit (103=3rd PSU after main panel?) but now not so sure. On opening all 3 panels all would appear to be fine inside with the red LED in the RIO units flashing at the correct rate. I installed the main panel back in 20…

  5. Hi, I have an Accenta/Optima Gen 4 alarm system installed for many years, operating reliably. However, the remote LCD keypad needs replacing (8EP417A) as it is incredibly discoloured and it's clearly tired when we use it. I'm struggling to find a replacement and wondered whether anyone has advice on a source or suitable alternative? Thanks for your help, Richard

Hi all Been doing alarm servicing for a little over a year now, mostly domestic with the majority of them being risco agility 2 and 3. Anyway one of our clients has an agility 2 but their keypad is playing up ( constantly draining battery's and also certain numbers are worn ) I'm just wondering if agility 3 keypads are backwards compatible with the 2 ? Basically I don't want to go all the way there just to find out it isn't only to have to hunt down for a agility 2 keypad . Any info would be much appreciated

  11. Hi We have a Texecom premier alarm and the hallway pir sensor needs changing. I resent giving the engineer a small fortune to change a battery (I just saw our electricity bill and mortgage rate rises! but I don’t know the engineer code…. if I start to change it and the tamper alarm goes off will my normal code let me reset it or is it an engineer only job? thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

  12. I know that by the book you should power off and remove the battery leads. When I did this before though I lost all the programmed info (Dimension panel) ans had to do it all again which was a pain obviously. If I’m careful not to cross wires, how much of a no-no is it adding an Ethernet module with the battery still connected? Otherwise what would be the cause of the loss of programming info? (card aerator removed from backup battery)

  13. The news just seems so panic panic panic nowadays, shortages in the shops causing panic buying during Covid, after that it was the fuel shortage everyone panicking to buy fuel all fuelled by the media (excuse the pun), and whats with the red pictures of the UK on the weather announcements? A few years ago that would have been a few jolly pictures of the sun in different places. Yeah it was hot today and maybe on paper hotter than any known recorded temperature but does it really warrant all the drama causing panic buying of ice cubes? They have been going on and on about inflation but I have not seen any changes in selling stuff, if anything I am selling more than I ever …

  14. I saw this today and it made me think. Today I talked someone through the log on an Ab72 that panel is 25 to 30 years old. We have allsorts of older panels out there all in good working order, It goes to show a serviced system last way beyond its life expectancy. But it always surprises me when a customer complains that their 30 year old panel needs to be replaced, Ill send them this picture the next time it happens.
