  1. Good morning all, I'm an end user and I would greatly appreciated some help from you guy's. I recently fitted a Texecom Premier Elite wireless system ad had a Texcom engineer round to commission it and then come round each year to change batteries and check things over. Whist here was here he said if I was to run a cable from the control box to the outside siren, the next time he comes round he would hard wire it for me. Whilst I've got time on my hands I thought I would do the cabling now but to drill a hole through the wall I would first of all need to remove the siren. my question is, how to I do this without setting the siren off? Mark the engineer is on holiday at the moment so I can't ask him but he did give me the engineers code if that's of any help. Thanks in advance of any help .
  2. Morning all, I've got Texecom Premier Elite wireless system set up. I fitted it myself but had a Texecom engineer round to commission it for me and i general look after it which includes him coming round once a year to change all the batteries. He said if I was to run a cable from the control panel to the siren the next time he was over he would hard wire it for me and that would save having to keep changing the batteries and also I could then, if I wanted, have the blue light flashing on it when the system is armed! To do this I would need to remove the siren box to drill a hole to be able to run the cable through, question is, how do I take it down without setting the alarm of? He did give me the engineers code a while back because after he left I decided to move the control box in to the loft but maybe he's changed that code now I don't know! Anyhow I would appreciate any help and advice from the technical minded on this, thanks.
  3. I don't pay him anything for maintenance yearly so wouldn't expect him to come out for nothing but just wondered if £60 was average for this?
  4. He charge's a £60 call out not including the price of batteries which he say's I could provide if I wanted to, would that be a fair price to pay and how long should the present batteries last?
  5. The engineer is but he did give me the engineer code when I had to change the position of the control panel but not too sure he hasn't changed the code since?
  6. Hi All, I'm new to the forum and already need some advice! I recently fitted a wireless Texecom Elite system and had a engineer round to commission it. When it comes round to changing the batteries in the different sensors, how do I do that without setting the alarm off? I may if necessary be able to get the engineers code but not sure yet! Thanks for any help.
