Hi I have installed a Veritas R8 with remote keypad. The system has a total of 10 Honeywell PIR's and 2 shock censors. It also has 2 Texecom Odyssey 3 Sounders, 1 at the front and 1 at the back of the house. I powered up the system and it worked fine. My customer came back from holiday a couple of days later and the alarm activated. The keypad is not responding and has lost the green power light. The panel seems OK and I have checked the voltage on the out going terminals for the keypad. The power light on the keypad comes on then goes back off when I switch the mcb at the cu. I have looped the 2 bell boxes without switching one of them to SAB or SCB. Could I ha…

Hi Guys, Back again, bought some new PIR's and had the system on test for a reasonable time now and its performing well, time to add the master blaster ! I kindly got sent a wiring diagram but for the life of me I cannot get it to work, don't know whether it's the circuit or the setting up of the output from the panel, hope someone can help me please ? The panel wants you to use the wireless bell box so the only info I can really find in the book is for the setting up of that which bears no relation to what I am trying to do, it does not seem to cover the two wired outputs in any real detail. Can anyone advise please, I have just the master blaster, no strobe and no t…

Hi We have purchased 8 off these cameras, but we can not find any brackets for outside mounting. http://www.cctvdirect.co.uk/products/Twilight-PRO-%252d-600-TVL-Ultra-High-Res-Dome-%252d-2.8%252d12mm-Lens%252d-30M-IR.html On the back of the camera there is four mounting holes, but these are positioned in a rectangular layout, most brackets i see are for a square layout, the supplier says if i re- drill new holes it will invalidate the warranty. We are look to mount these to a 3m pole. Can anyone help or advise on some brackets ? Many thanks Marcus

Hi All, I successfully installed my new i-on40 panel with the internal web server. It is connected to my internal home network via the onboard ethernet port. Accessing it locally from my lan works fine. What I tried now is opening that port in my router (port forwarding) so I would be able to access it via my ddns host name. (http://ddnshostname:port) But I keep seeing a blank page. Is the internal webserver only accepting connections from within it's own LAN? (what I could understand from a security perspective off course) Thanks in advance.

Hi all I'm looking for some advice on a possible solution to securing my garage. I have a magnetic contact on the garage which is in it's own zone. I have additional locking on the door via an electric lock release, which is wired to the lighting (12v) on the automatic opener. Hence, when the light is on during the operation of the door , the lock is unlocked. I'm trying to work out a solution to allow me to remote disarm the alarm, and allow me access to the garage without having to go in the house first. I don't really want to set a delay entry in the zone (which would allow me to have a keypad in the garage, then enter via the internal door) as I want an instant alar…

Hi everyone, Hopefully someone on here can help me with my predicament, otherwise the missus will not be happy. We are redecorating our hallway and I needed to remove one of the PIR sensors in order to paint behind it etc etc bah blah blah... Anyway, after removing the PIR I noticed that the display on our MK7 keypad wasn't working (not illuminated or anything) and I don't know what is wrong. I have previously removed a different PIR and everything was fine, apart for the tamper warnings. I have checked the control panel at the LED is illuminated to show power, and I have also reconnected all PIRs but no difference. It is a Honeywell Galaxy system, with 3 Activ8 PIRs…

Hi there. I need help . Tried to do a simple thing like change the user access code last night. Panel made all the right noises, but when set to test then didn't recognise code and alarm proceeded to sound. I then had to disconnect mains and battery to stop this. I then followed installation manual settings to reset it - which I managed and back to programming mode. It will only let me use 60 and then again it accepts the new code (lights 1 to 4 light up) and makes the noise. Set to test , entered new code again and again it won't unset and eventually alarm goes off. Have tried final part of this numerous times with different new codes to no avail. What am I doing…

Hi Everyone, I have been looking through this form for days now. Found some very useful topics that helped me with my Zone 9 tamper issue, but not as yet found anything that would help me wire the internal siren. I'm not sure of the make and model of the siren but it looks pretty basic. I've had the Accord XPc installed approx 15 years ago and had disabled the whole unit in a panic whilst I replaced our consumer unit last week. Everything else is wired now but the siren. Could anyone help me with wiring up the internal siren please? All I know is that the red, black, blue and white wires were used. I have included photos of the siren and alarm unit connections whi…

Hello all, i am looking for advice on a dedicated 4ch DVR for a small business CCTV system. At present i am using a Pico2000 card which is providing poor quality footage but the software is providing the options i want. Those being: 1) Easy to use GUI 2) Web based viewing 3) Ability to set areas for the motion detection to be triggered 4) Ability to adjust the motion detection sensitivity (we have birds that fly through the area, the pico2000 has been adjusted to ignore them) 5) Able to set a “pre-alarm” to the motion detection so it will record for a preset time prior to the motion detection being triggered. I need a dedicated DVR that can do all of the above, but…

Hi, i am just about to purchase a Texecom Veritas Excel panel & would like to have a cupboard that has valuables & a safe in on 24 hour security but am not sure what to set the panel at to achieve this. IE: if the alarm is turned off for normal house use i would want the cupboard alarmed until i want to go in there. I could set it as PA or Fire, but thought there would be a better way. Any suggestions. Image below gives the options in the left column. Many Thanks Chris

Hi All, Wonder if anyone can suggest simple way of causing a buzzer to sound in the house when anyone goes between the piers to roadway. I'm having electric gates installed so there's mains power down there (about 60m from house) I've also got a 10-pair cable (exterior phone PJ filled, 0.5mm sq.) laid from gate control box to house so should be 5 or 6 pairs spare. I'm sure someone's hacked this one before. Many thanks

I have a Galaxy G3-48C I'm trying to add an ethernet module but wanted to cehck the wiring as there are currenlty no resistors on the RS485 Line? The pannel currenlty has one keypad ( Honeywell CP083) wired to RS485 Line 1 but there is no resistor anywhere on this circuit - should there be? The B1, A1, GND +12V are all connected to the keypad I have tried adding the ethernet module by dasiy chaining all the wires and it powers up but then stops working I think it may be a voltage or resistor issue? can anyone help Thanks Dan
