We've had a veritas 8 system for some time and there have been no issues. It is being used in our outhouse/office and uses just a single zone. Recently we have been remodelling the office and the motion detector ended up being inside a toilet cubicle, so I decided to move the sensor. The sensor is now wired, as far as I can tell, in exactly the same configuration as before only using a different length of 6-core cable. Now, when trying to set the alarm, I get a continuous series of single beeps whilst the zone 1 LED is lit red - I assume to show an error with the zone 1 detector, reinforced by the single beeps (instead of multiple beeps…

Hi, I have a Pyronix V2 Tel Speech Dialler (the PSTN version, NOT the GSM one). The application is to install it at remote (semi-rural) storage site to compliment the existing remote access HD CCTV system I've already put in (and which works well). The V2 Tel is going to be used entirely in it's stand-alone mode - i.e. it is not (at this stage) going to be connected to a panel or use any of it's 6 inputs. They may be brought into use later, but initially it's main function is to provide dial-in remote control to switch on/off some devices (via it's 4 remotely controlled outputs) and "speak to site" (eventually via an external amplified speaker as i…

The last couple of nights the alarm has activated and on the LCD RKP it shows the following : 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 0 1 F 0 0 0 0 0 What does this mean ? I would have thought it would only show '1' on the zone triggered ? What is the 'F' ? I guess it's a fault code ? All zones are in use. Zone 1 is front door, zone 2 is Hall PIR and zone 3 is rear patio shock sensor. I going to change the backup battery as a start as I checked it yesterday and it's over 5 years old.

I am not a professional installer. I purchased enforcer-32-we with digi-gsm module 2 years before and installed at my home. It is working fine. The GSM module send alarm notifications by SMS. But I contacted the pyronix support and they told that the UK version does not support SMS remote control. Are there any cheapest options to include this feature to my system. If so please let me know the options clearly. I prefer GSM as it is more reliable as intruder can cut my telephone line before intrude. If this is not possible, I am ok with other options.

I have just purchased the Pyronix Enforcer, after realising how big and bulky the LEDRKP remote keypad is I am thinking of opting for the Euro proxI card reader to have in the hall way so upon entry I can deactivate the system. As far as I can see from the info on the Enforcer website there is no audible output from this to remind you (or the rest of the family) to disarm the system, I'm confident the kids will forget every time. Please correct me if I am wrong. The Enforcer panel is mounted at the other side of the house so no chance of hearing that. It maybe old fashioned but I like the audible reminder the system is active when entering, is it possible to…

Hi, thanks in advance for any help you can offer I recently moved into my new house, with a working Gardtec alarm system. Last week the alarm went off during a powercut and we typed in the code to stop it. The screen went blank and now doesn't work at all. It looks like it still has power, because the green light is on (see photos). I'm not sure what Gardtec we have but I hope the panel photos help identify it. Any ideas on how to fix or do I need to replace?

Hey all, a few years ago a self installed an Enforcer v9 alarm and seemed to get the existing bell working after replaying an Ademco Galaxy panel. ive just replaced the v9 panel with the v10 and although the PCB board is exactly the same I thought I’d check the wiring even though it seems to work as I’m concerned the tamper isn’t in right. ive attached pics of how the old ademco panel was wired and how I’ve wired the Enforcer. Also a pic of the bell, but I e no idea of the make/model. hopefully some of the experts can identify the bell and correct wiring. Btw I’m a cyber security expert so handy with electronics and not a numpty …

I have this old system installed which died when the Bell standby battery expired a few years ago. I bought a replacement battery but never fitted it. l abandonned it after the control panel displayed the ‘contact installer’ message. However having tried to recently resurrect it, I managed to get the system to re-boot but it appears to have reverted to it’s original start date (1989) and settings - no longer recognising the later entry code. Sensors appear to function OK but are no longer recognised. The system has remained powered up throughout although will have suffered periodic mains interruptions. Is there any one around who could possible assist with this please. I…

Hi there I’m a sparks but have no alarm install experience. I like the sound of the Texecom Ricochet wireless system. I have a three bed house out here in Italy and was looking at installing a reliable system in the house. I was thinking about contacts on 9 windows and two doors. Plus motion sensors covering 9 rooms including the hallways. I am also looking at an external dialer to designated numbers, key fob control and a smart phone app to monitor the alarm status. I contacted Texecom, told them I am looking for a DIY system because I have no experience installing security alarms and they suggested the Texecom 64-W system and suggested it should be installed b…

Hi How would you work out how long a battery will last? I have a 3.2ah battery but id like to know if it will last 24 hours. http://www.actmeters.co.uk/alarm-advice/fault-finding-a-guide/ Using the act fault finding guide i have measured the standby current as 225 milliamps. so 3.2ah/225 = 14.22 hours. is this correct please?

Hi I am planning to install a Visonic Powermax Complete at my home & I have an existing cable already run to the bellbox position & would like to install a wired bell to avoid having to fit & change batteries. I have seen on Visonic's website that they supply an expander card which allows the connection of a wired bell, can anyone confirm if a seperate 12 volt power supply is required to add power for the bell? Would I need a seperate power supply & relay? I have a Texecom Odyssey 3E bell. Also are the connections on the expander card similar to wired panels with connections like NEG STROBE, OV, TR, - & +? Additionally I am interested in fi…

So i'm going to be doing FSL wiring, which I think is straightforward enough for the PIRs and magnetic contacts (they all come with built in resistors). But i'm not sure how I would implement it for the Texecom RKPs and Texecom telephone speech dialler? These don't appear to have any built in resisistors.
