  1. Hi, We have a Texecom Premier 24 alarm with two keypads. It was installed in 2005. Whilst the alarm has been very stable and reliable, we're finding that the silicone style buttons on the keypads are starting to degrade. I know that the newer versions are more rigid buttons, and therefore I'm considering replacing the keypad in it's entirety. Whilst I'm not an alarm engineer, I'm comfortable with basic wiring and I have the engineer code for the system as well as all of the manuals (including installer). If I identify the suitable replacement keypad, is it a (simple) case of removing one and connecting the replacement? It appears t…

  2. I have a Texecom alarm with a Veritas R8 (or plus?) / Excel styled control panel box with a Premier LCDL remote key pad from around 2003. The keys on the remote key pad were made of a soft silicone and some of them have become worn and difficult to press and register. I have looked around but I can’t find replacement silicone key pad so I purchased a second hand Premier LCDL remote keypad from ebay with the intention of changing over the silicone but the new keypad actually came with solid plastic keys which look much better and should last much longer. Now I’m wondering if I can just swap the whole keypad units over rather than just the silicone keys which may not…

  3. Hello, DIY install of a Visonic Powermaster 360R. Added PB-102 2 button panic button through enrolling. Disarm key successfully disarms, red flash/green flash. Arm key successfully arms same red flash/green flash. Zone type set to PANIC. Pressing both keys for panic - double red flash and no response from alarm. Change zone type to EMERGENCY from PANIC and red flash then green flash on double key press and alarm sends out emergency alert to Visonic-Go. However siren does not sound so not ideal. Panic alarm set to audible in control panel menu. Why will it not panic ? Thank…

Hi everyone, I have an old house with a Logic 4 key operated alarm system fitted. I need to change the old grotty looking PIR sensor for a new one. Can anyone help advise what mode or procedure I have to put the alarm box in to swap out the PIR please? Box is the same as this one; https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/233496060845_/Logic-4-key-operated-home-alarm-system-intruder.jpg Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers Ben

  5. Hi, I've just moved to a place with a 22 year-old C&K Securitech 700L alarm system installed, the main fuse had been pulled and there was no battery. I've put a new battery in and reset the whole system, all zone sensors work and the user code activates the system entry/exit on the keypad, but both the internal and external sirens/strobe don't activate, is there anything else I can check? Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi, my alarm has no model name showing and it's PCB doesn't seem to match any installation manuals I have seen. I was thinking it might be a Veritas R8, but the vertical terminal block on the far right is a mystery. it is labelled R/R, L/M, 1, ... 8 - any ideas what that is for?

Accenta G4 Hello, I need to change a passive mechanical door switch. Will putting the alarm into Engineering Mode prevent the Tamper Alarm from sounding? Thanks, David

  8. Hi all, So after waiting 6 months already for Konnected.io's new Pro v2 panel I've had enough and need to find another solution! After a lot of googling I found that Envisalink v4 with a Honeywell panel may be my best option as I use Home Assistant for all automatons and devices in the home and I've already bought a load of Honeywell DT8016AF5 Sensors. However, I was going to buy a Honeywell Vista 21IPLTE before I realised it seems like its a US panel (because it has a 120v transformer). I then stumbled upon this website and thought lets get some advice on the best panel to do the following: Ability to connect to Home Assis…

Hi, I have a self installed Pyronix Enforcer V10 with various sensors. For my night setting, I've set the siren delay to be 2 minutes, in case of any false alarms overnight. The trouble is, it seems to ignore this and triggers the external siren (the wireless deltabell) as soon as the alarm is activated (either a shock or contact sensor). I've waited the three minutes it says before it will take effect, but still no joy. Is anybody able to assist please? Many thanks, Matt

Hey guys Looking at putting a wireless alarm system in my house and just wondering what thoughts you've got on the pyronix enforcer system. I quite like the idea of being able to control it from an app aswell as adding wireless cameras as well. I fitted a scantoric ion 16 in my last house and although it worked quite well the pirs wasn't that responsive to movement. Hopefully things have improved since then it was a good 6 years ago now. Is there any alternative to the pyronix that offers the features i'm looking for ? Thanks

Hi - I moved into my house about 18 months ago and the existing alarm system showed no sign of life. Along comes the virus so I'm thinking it's a good time to try and get it fixed. After a bit of looking around, I bought a new CP8L control box, battery and panel. Disconnected the existing board, replaced and rewired everything up to the existing IR devices and the bell. After powering up, and entering the default engineer code I get a message that says 'cannot set zone 7' and then after entering the code again and the alarm going off, I get the !!!CHECK!!! zone 7 code. Having walk tested all 8 IR sensors I do get a red led from each sensor as it is activated. I can narro…

hey guys Looking for abit of advice. My dads got a scantronic 9448 with a built in keypad. He'd like to relocate the control panel and just have a keypad. Is there any other keypads compatible with the control panel other than the 9427 keypad. He likes the KEY-KP01 but unsure if this will work. Thanks

Hi everyone, I have cracked on with installing my CCTV, I have run a few cat 5 cables and tested them successfully using my Haydon tester. Unfortunately after running a length through some conduit I have found that my tester is flashing both pins 1 & 2 simultaneously and then cycling through the other pins correctly at one end, the other end flashes fine. Will I have to replace the whole cable or will my Hikvision turret camera be ok with the 1 & 2 pins, I guess crossed? I am unsure if the camera uses those pins? I have replaced both ends and redone the connection but it has not fixed the problem. Thanks for any help…

  14. Hi all, I am connecting a wired sounder to my Texecom Premier Elite 64-W control panel as I don't want to be climbing a high ladder to change the batteries on the wireless sounder. I have chosen the Odyssey X-B sounder back plate. This model includes a backlight. Out of the box the backlight is lit permanently as it is wired directly to the +12V supply terminal. I do not wish the backlight to be lit 24/7. This is easily achieved by disconnecting the back light from the +12V supply. However, I would like the back light lit when the alarm is activated. The installation manual INS627-2 suggests this is possible. From the manual under secti…
