  3. After spending hours (many Hours) back to customer's home, BT are blaming the alarm system, I tried to help the so called engineers out by explaining they had a ground leak & a Core to core leak as well, getting down to basics I used pen & paper but then this BT Engineer made a mind blowing statement, "BT have designed there own OHMS LAW, so none of this applies!!!!!! i TRIED TO EXPLAIN, Every electron in the universe has to compile to Ohms Law, "NO" he states BT have there own Laws, So OK, I then showed him the cupboard in which our equipment is fitted, I'd removed it, it was sitting on the shelve wires tapped off, This so called BT engineer then…

  4. Hello, I am currently carrying out a survey to gather data about professional two-way radios and I hope you can help. Two-way radios are useful management tools and are used in several business and industrial sectors for communication and organization especially for security and surveillance. It is also a market that has grown by at least 1% a year since 2009 and is expected to grow even further by 2020. As these products get more mission critical, sophisticated and pricey, it is important that we have cheap and effective ways of keeping them out of harm's way. The survey aims to find out trends on current two-way radio usage, current methods of radio protection …

anybody got an automated message and options to select (auto attendant?) on their incoming line?

  8. Started by BBSS,

Looking for installers opinions on the above hardware. I have a site with 2 Galaxy Panels and a Scantronic panel all of which require Dualcom monitoring. Also the fire panels are to be monitored to. I was just wondering how installers found the hardware to install? Previously installed Redcare GSM but this would be the first Dualcom. Going through the Dualcom technical manual all pretty standard. Thoughts please BBSS

  9. I would like advice on the following issue. Customer had mentioned that broadband drops at random times but always came back. He has fibre and has the openreach vdsl filter plate fitted. I noticed that his A?T galaxy monitored alarm is spliced into the phone line in the loft where the line comes in, this line then continues to his master line box with vdsl plate. There are no other phone sockets fitted or in use. Could the alarm even if it has an Excelsus filter in it cause interference? Thanks

  10. Hello to all. I installed a control panel that accepts commands via phone (DTMF), but since last week, she has had trouble accepting commands. When the connection is made by a conventional phone in just 50% of attempts to understand the central command. Already when performed by a mobile phone, with the phone company "A" with success in 75% of attempts, and another (B) in almost 100%. DTMF codes are generated by the device or the phone company? Anyway, the panel is under warranty, but I want to make sure that is a defect before changing. PS: sorry for my bad english.

  13. Started by timmo66,

Phone line is connected to our speech dialler via the back of the master bt socket. There is broadband on the line and the dialler is filtered. However, with all connected, when dialler calls it cuts off the customers broadband. When removed from the master socket, so basically the incoming line is straight through to the dialler, all is well. filter has been changed, and wiring must be okay based on the fact that all works without the master socket etc in play. any ideas folks?

  15. Hi there Wonder if any of you guys can help me out here? We have an office network with an LG LKD 30D as the main unit onto which we want to put a headset so our receptionist can talk and type etc. The Headset (box) we have is a Plantronics Vista, which I am told is compatible with our system. My question is really how do I program a headset release key on the phone so the receptionist can answer calls without picking up the receiver? I know you can actually set the speaker to headset or set up a seperate headset key but don't know how! any help please?
