Communication Issues

Communication Issues - General Telecoms Issues

  1. Started by jb-eye,

Some will be aware that the GG system fell over completely on friday resulting in no service for most of the day. We moved to this service some time ago and so far we have been pleased with the saving. I have been reading the comments being left on their web site which i generaly found surprisingly gracious. The CEO publicaly appolagised and exsplained the situation. There are of course the usual whats in it for me crowd.

  2. Hi folks..I am at the end of my tether. I have broadband 2 meg from Jersey Telecom. For approx 5 months I have loads of bother. They are trying to fix it but it appears to be a dead end. My broadband keeps dropping out which increases in the evening. When I do have it I can't online game and struggle to stream. My ping is on average in the 200's but it has been 2145 and my jitter is in the 400's. I sometimes get packet loss of 4%. My phone line drops or I get one way transmission where i hear them but they can't hear me. Soultions so far router was changed to a netgear DGN 1000. Internal wiring changed with new filters, new home phone too, ringers removed External ca…

well lets hope no-one lol. Emizon..... why? Still needs a gprs signal if dual path. The point of the high gain aerial is that it does put more signal into the module, BUT there are some losses in the cable as its normally longer, and or needs extending. Have yet to have an issue with voda or o2 but prefer the idea of being able to use any sim. Cant see why you cant on the secure products.

Hi, I'm trying to connect to an Ademco Vista-128FB, via the compass download software. Should be easy just call honeywell right..... The problem is that the Honeywell UK don't support either the panel, or the software, and the Honeywell US will not help me because I'm not in the USA. The customer bought the equipment and I'm unable to get the dial in software working, I want this as the keypad programming seems to be all over the place some menu's, some bit setting, references to a CSID in the s/w, but not in the panel...... I can call up the panel, it answers but then the connection drops with the message that the modem may be dropping the line. Listening in it …

I have a Cooper SD2+ connected to a system and working fine using the O2 SMS centre. I have been asked to switch this to using the BT Text service so that use can be made of the bundled free texts with the BT phone line. Not an unreasonable request. The problem is that I have tried almost every setting to get this unit to work with BT Text and have even had a BT engineering helping but to no avail. (message centre number 1470 P 17094009) Even the BT engineer could not confirm the correct settings as apartently the BT SMS gateway is run for them by Unisys. Has anyone else found this to be a problem or managed to solve it? If so could you post the settings and procedure…

I want to add a premicell into a intruder alarm to give GSM voice dialer support. Is it plug and play to wire a Nokia 22 into the second line port of a diverse 2 line box? If it works I then have a cordless socket to plug the voice dialer into, result GSM voice dialer for a fraction of the cost of a "proper" one! Just hope there is no power cut!!!!

Anyone else had any problems with a digi on a Talk Talk line? We tried prefixing the tel no. with 1280 which usually diverts the call back to BTs lines and works ok, but had no joy it actually said we had dialled an incorrect number. After many calls to Talk Talk it was discovered that it was a LLU line (local loop unbundled I believe), I think this means that Talk Talk have their own equipment in the exchange and the calls are routed purely over their own digital network. Is this what the problem is likely to be when BT transfer to 21CN?
