Most telephone lines to new properties are 2 wire systems 49v wired to terminals 2 and 5 to a master socket, why if we take take a pair off to an extension and use a normal Solwise socket (not master)connected to 2 and 5 does it interfere with other phones connected to the master socket, but does not interfere if another master socket is used with a plug in broadband filter.

Hi All, We have a BT Pathway installed and never had any problems with it. We have 2 analogue lines installed (Line 1 & Line 2) and 6 extensions. (I think the machine we bought allows up to 4 external lines.) Following on from some severe lightening in the area last week, we have lost the ability to use lines 1 and 2. By rewiring the analogue lines, I see that I can use line 3 but not line 4. So out of 4 possible analogue line positions, I am only able to get an outside line using line 3. Someone said there was a slight smell of burning just after the lightening. Do you think the system is fried? Anything I can do to get two lines working again? I do have an…

Hi Guy's, Be nice to me. We have BT's Call Sign on our phone, however with the wireless phones we use, they don't give different ring tones to identify the 'call sign' calls. We don't want to go down the road of using a BT TwinTalk Line Sharer device and a seperate set of phones. The only way we currently know we have a "call sign" call is we still have a mechanical bell installed, but.... most of the household being tone deaf (or something like that) can rarely tell the difference! What I had in mind of doing, was to build a timing circuit to measure the ring pulses, then when it detects the extra long pulse, to activate a relay to supply a sound bomb or something …

At a remote site I have installed a dvr to a static IP and can view it remotely no probs. There is one phone on the line and a speech dialler. When i am viewing from home its fine until i dial up on my mobile to switch the lights on at the yard and then the dvr drops me out and freezes. Im sure i need a filter but not sure where. the speech dialler wires straight in to the incoming line box. And the router wires into a socket further down the line. I am worried that if i fit the filter between socket and router (which i think would be the norm) i may still get the problem as the dialler is connected into the line before that point. Am i right in thinking that the phon…

Hello, We have a BT Pathway system installed in our office. We now want to add a door intercom to the outside world so that we can talk to delivery men etc.. I think the part we need is a: "BT Netlink 30 Door Intercom" I am having great difficulty trying to source one of these. BT seem to laugh when I ask them as though they have never heard of it. I have tried a few other companies on the net but they seem to be out of stock or it seems almost an obsolete part. This is strange to me as the system was only put in a few yers years ago. Does anyone know where I can get one of these? Please help if you can. Thanks.
