Hi I have been asked to survey a site to with a view to offering maintenance / taking system over. However, the system onsite is a Chubb AFX director integrated system. Does anyone know much about this system and whether it is possible to take this system on or whether it is "closed" an the client is stuck with Chubb? Thanks Lee

Hi Folks To cut a long story short i have aquired above DVR from my work as they have had a full upgrade I need to remove user password as the info went with the long gone security contractors that went bust, tried taking CMOS battery out overnight no good, are there any jumpers on the M/B like on a PC? I am coming to the conclusion i will have to flash the firmware using HyperTerminal but before i do this has anyone else got any ideas i could try? Ed

Hi guys I have a Ademco Galaxy 8+ here and an Elmdene ADT bell box I’m confused which wires go where I know the red and black and I know I’m getting the sound on the bell box and the red led, but I’m not getting the strobe light. Can anyone help me please? Good photo attached Thanks

Hi any trade members with experience with these sounders can't make heads or tails of the jumper selectors I want it to sound for 15-20 mins and what is the strobe hold off jumper for as it has to separate hold of jumpers as well as + or - jumpers

Hello all, I'm currently trying to wire an 'Informa 8EP276A-UK' to a Honeywell Galaxy 2-20 control panel. Apparently the control panel does have capability to dial out without an external dialler but unfortunately, we no longer get the alarm serviced from the installers (A*T). This means we don't have the Master Reset Code which we need to program the menus. Basically, rip-off merchants A*T will not release the code unless we start a service contract with them again; which is not going to happen. I have been asked if I can get a wireless relay transmiter that will connet to bell +- on one panel and reciver that will open circuit a zone on the other panel (wirelessly) as one panel is in a detached garage and no way of getting wire to it. anyone got any ideas on where i can get one as i'm sure i can?

Good morning. I am a DIY installer. I have a powermax plus control panel and an odyssey5 wired external sounder. I have the system functional apart from the tamper loop. I have downloaded instructions in how to wire the tamper loop but find them as clear as mud! Please could somebody give me the idiots guide in laymens terms of how to wire in the tamper to zone 29/30. I have the relevant resistors required and as I say, the alarm system is functional apart from when I "tamper" with the external sounder that the internal control panel alarm does not trigger. Hi, I'm about to programme up a M600. Its a large domestic house and the garage has 2 up and over electric doors with a contact on each, an external door with a contact, a keypad and a PIR. In the room adjacent to the garage I have a second keypad, PIR and an external door with a contact. There is also a keypad in the master bedroom. Night time setting of the alarm will be all devices on a ward and instant set. Away will be again all devices with final exit set. If the customer drives up to the garage and the door opens this then starts the timer, from the door starting to open to the customer reaching the keypad the time is calculated at around 70-80 seconds. Hello, I have an ancient alarm system, already fitted when we moved in 15 years ago. The control box is marked CU5100. It has two panic buttons, one near the front door, and another which ended up on a floor hidden behind a bed and never touched except on annual service. My dear wife has just decorated that room and managed to give the cable a little tug, which has disconnected some of the internal wiring leaving only one wire attached to a terminal (the red one, see below).
