New guy Posted May 10, 2012 Share Posted May 10, 2012 Good morning. I am a DIY installer. I have a powermax plus control panel and an odyssey5 wired external sounder. I have the system functional apart from the tamper loop. I have downloaded instructions in how to wire the tamper loop but find them as clear as mud! Please could somebody give me the idiots guide in laymens terms of how to wire in the tamper to zone 29/30. I have the relevant resistors required and as I say, the alarm system is functional apart from when I "tamper" with the external sounder that the internal control panel alarm does not trigger. The external sounder is/ will be the only hard wired accessory. The wiring I have currently used so far is Control panel. Wire. Odyssey5 +12V. Red. 12V+VE EXT. Blue. -VE bell Hold. Black. 0V INT. Green. Strb -VE White wire which I'm led to believe is a 'spare' Yellow wire which is labelled TAMPER on the external sounder but no idea how to wire it through zone 29 or 30. I understand that whichever zone I do not use must still have a resistor across it. Please could somebody give someone with limited wiring knowledge an idiot poof guide as to how I wire the yellow tamper wire and resistors in.
