Hi Any useful info on this panel before I go pay a visit? Havnt worked on it, I assume it's ID based? Scrap it?

  2. Started by Amps,

Of all the alarm panels Texecom is probably the one i know least about. Infact diddle squat. Taken over a couple in the past and the menu structure always seemed a little "over engineered" compared to the Castle i am used too. Anyway i have been sent this image from a friend this evening with the following text "can you sort my new alarm for me. Every 2 or 3 hours it gives off a series of loud beeps and shows system alerts and its driving me mad!" Anyone make out anything from the pic? Unclear i know. Also he says that he should be able to access the keypad from his iphone, this a straightforward app?

  5. Started by Paul P,

Hi I put a prem elite 24 in yesterday but did not manage to get it all sorted so left it in engineer mode so no grief over the week end. Some how it has dropped out and gone into tamper alarm is there a limit on the amount of time it will stay in eng mode. The customer swears they have not touched it. Battery is fitted and working, some zones not connected yet. Thanks Paul

  8. It would appear on triggering a Fire Alarm on a Texecom PE24, and probably other models. The volume of the internal alarm is set by the Volume Setting. While I can imagine this might be usefully for some people, it just don't seem right. It's the first smoke alarm I have seen that you can turn down if its too loud. I would of expected the Panel and Expander Volume to set the level of Advisory Tones, which I have to do for the customers satisfaction. But, like Intruder Alarm, I would expect Fire Tones to be at Full wack!. I would not want to have to explain the reason people died in the house fire was because it was not loud enough to wake them. While I reco…

Today I tinkered with a M550, It appears to be mostly 24hr circuits for fire doors, No documentation, showing "Engineer Reset Required" ect.. Attempted to default w/o success but got it back operational & the fire doors reset off user code. Sat here looking at a book they appear to only support a 1 x 4k7 & 1x 2k2 resistors in the circuit ? Would I be correct in thinking modes & rkp don't work with current range & if I want an unlock board I'm looking at ebay ?

is there a way to stop supervision faults from ricochet devices if the area is disarmed? i'd like to put a shock on the van to ring the alarm in the house if any of the scumbags round here attempt to nick my ladders again but don't want loads of faults every time i drive away. if i can't do it with ricochet i'll use a risco device with nova but i'd like to keep it all texe. thanks! (just to add, they didn't successfully take anything)

  12. Started by timmo66,

On a Texecom if you were running (what i would call) perimeter zones, for example a GJD detector, and sia signalling, 1) what would the circuit type be called on the panel and 2) what would the sia code show as at central station?

  13. Started by Amps,

Tried to install an additional Netlcd keypad on a Ts900 today but with no joy. The new keypad will work if i address it as 1 and disconnect the existing keypad. So both keypads and cabling are fine. However if i address the new keypad or the old keypad as anything other than 1 i.e 2,3 or 4 they will not work. It will display the time and date and the message "system is busy" when in engineers mode but entering a code does nothing. There are no nodes on the system. What is the correct procedure when installing a keypad on a Ts9000? Address the keypad then when in Engineers 1 press C to save new hardware?

Why would the panel be permanently stuck with "--" displayed , I understand normally they appear when entering your code etc , but this one is stuck like this n omatter what you do
