What's the new version of this panel? I was about to spec a job using one and realised they are discontinued. I wanted the on board comms version. I still have a serial interface for the old TS range so I was hoping I can still use it for the newer panel or are the usb only? Grade 3 latest version obviously required.

Was the 9850 notorious for problems and firmware issues? Just wondering as seems a shame to throw a new unit, but the 9851 came out pretty quickly after didn't it? I have a couple of 9851s on the books and no issues at all.

Went to a site today to price up for a new fire alarm and CCTV. While their I was asked if we would take over the intruder as they are far from happy with there current provider. Anyhow it's a HKC wire free system with about 50 devices on it. I advised that we don't fit or support this system but would look into it. So how easy are they to work on, take over and look after ? Thanks

I have just been out to look at an enforcer we fitted about a month ago. Customer reports that every so often when they enter the house they can't turn off the system for 90 seconds, they say the system dose an odd bleep then locks out and go's into alarm. Only after 90 seconds can they turn the system off. I have checked the log and the system is used every day set and unset a few times, about every 5 days it shows invalid code or invalid tag this is when there is a problem. There are no tags in the system and they are using the one and only code correctly. It only dose this on full set never on part set. I have double checked all the programming and all is correct.…

hi trying to figure something out, manual is weird and takes to long for me to understand lol on the galaxy aswell as other brands its quite simple to make a zone timed on part set on the hkc menus i cant seem to figure it out you have full set , partset a and part set b if a zone is intruder (full alarm when activated) on full set how do i make the same zone timed on partset a or b or is this not possible on these panels, i assume same menu config as other hkc models, it only seems to exclude in options unless they using another abreviation for it or something hope you can help thanks

After reading Rogers post the other evening with regards to wireless kit, i thought it was just another slating of wireless kit, i remember thinking thats a bit harsh - but i have to agree Roger - upto now, i have not found one wireless manufacture that can actually provide a decent system, they all **** up somewhere. The latest, and as Rogers mentioned, the enforcer not showing low battery, FFS, surely this is a basic requirement - and surely to **** we've not got to go down the route of firmware bollocx upgrades. I've just emailed enterprise for hkc price list, did someone mention you need training before they will supply? I really have lost the will to live with …

as mentioned in a previous post, i've got one of my most complicated installs yet coming up. as well as close to 168 zones, the system will also be using dozens of expander outputs and a few control timers, as well as 5 areas. currently, our 'system readings' sheets that we put in the panel on installs for future services are pretty basic and just have space for about 16 zones, nothing for outputs, area info, etc. i was wandering if anyone had a decent format that has space for zones, outputs, area info, CT timer info, etc that they'd be willing to share so i don't have to make my own? Thanks in advance

A potential customer asked me to quote, said hes already got a few quotes in and came up with a really low price for 6 detectors 2 door contacts in the 4 bed home with utility room plus a detector in the garage with app for access and alarm notifications. Told him I couldnt match that price what are you being quoted on, siemens and some system begining with F but couldnt tell me what for certain so unable to confirm exactly what he was getting for his money. A job to avoid I guess but it did get me wondering to what hes being quoted for, any best guesses?

Not familiar with these panels, went to fix one yesterday (fault wouldn't clear on a pir after customer changing battery) and its all working fine now. My customer now wants to know what his options are for omitting a detector when full set. Animal mad house. Does have shocks and contacts on the doors so perimeter is protected where they need to be but two pir's are issues for the cats, and they are the pet tolerant type he has, but in the location they are in are going to be next to useless, so hes found out over the years. Having looked at the manual I can. 1) delete the device/s 2) create a part set using zone type interior follower (would need to part …

Does any one know if you can test the on board digi modem from the keypad? See you can test the plug on but could spot a test for the on board. Richard

I have a Siemens spc 5320 panel to play with tomorrow and its been an age since i touched a Europlex/Siemens panel. I have a shunt switch to fit which will be wired to a cct. My question, is it possible to link the shunt cct so when open it will shunt another cct? i.e shunt cct 35 when open will shunt fire exit cct 24. I have a feeling it can be done using the shuntx zone type but have no access to a manual until tomorrow morning. Anyone in the know please?
