My installer is refusing to give me the engineer code to my Orisec alarm system. Does that mean I am locked into them if I want upgrades? Can another firm reset it?

I have an installed but powered down Scantronic alarm system. It has control panel with battery 6 months old, 2 Scantronic 9800 keypad setting controllers, 3 movement sensors, one panic button (and a door sensor which I am reluctant to detach). All, including keypads, in full working order. Is this saleable - as a whole or in part? Is ebay my best bet? Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Hi all - I'm seeking some assistance please. I have an ADT alarm in my house with a Honeywell Galaxy 2-20 C020. Unfortunately, I have lost the original screw which is causing me issues with the alarm. Does anyone know what screw I will need to buy to make my alarm happy again? I've tried a couple of random screws in my shed but they aren't quite up to the job. Thanks! Chris

Hi, Have Texecom fixed their issue with the backlights failing in their Odyssey X external sounders. I've heard people say that they have and people say they haven't and I've seen a few with failed backlights and some that have been installed for around a year that still have functioning backlights. Thanks, Alex

Have a 2 small safes (Chubb at home) as we have important documents and antiques. I installed an alarm for the house a few years ago and now am trying to install a safe limpet. elmdene e20 limpets I have bought these. I fitted them on the safe. One safe works perfectly as it should the other safe randomly after 5min or 40min will cause an “alarm”/ circuit going active and then back to normal. what is the problem here

Installed a grade 3 surface CQR door contact on a clients Aluminium sliding front shop door. contact works fine open/close everything is fine. however it randomly causes a tamper alarm and then goes back to normal. Not always at the same time. Some days no tamper. What seems to be causing the issue. Never had this. Changed the sensor to a new one. Checked all the wiring and gaps ect. Still the same issue

Have recently begun migrating from a really ancient Hills Reliance R128 Security System to a Honeywell Galaxy Flex FX100+ system. The learning curve so far has been high, but I must admit this site has been an amazing source of information and reference material. Have also been reading the galaxy flex installer manual, but I must admit the easiest way I have found to get up to speed has been the wiring diagrams supplied in this forum. I think I have most things covered... but I am a little unsure of the most appropriate method for wiring the PIR sensor units. I have included a photo of the existing Hills Reliance panel, but I am thinking it may not be benefici…

Hi forum, I have worked with liquid smoke solutions in the past like SmokeCloak but I have recently come across solid state security smoke solutions on Ebay. I asked the seller for the safety data sheets but they claim they import them from China and don’t have any data. Does anyone have any experience with solid state smoke? Are they legal in the UK?
