Just wondering what other engineers opinions are on texecom (personally getting a bit fed up with glitches and tech support) I hear the chaps who left menvier to go to texecom have now left texe and are going it alone with there own designed panel? Any truth to this? Hope so bet it would be a top panel

Just wondering if any one has ever had an issue with the old style Honeywell dt755 , all the detectors I have in use are these but I have one that keeps false alarming only when large vehicles seem to go past (cctv checked at activation times ) all voltages and resistances readings are fine device replaced set on its lowest sensitivity setting still happens at a bit of a loss to be honest

Anyone heard much about the Portishead shooting? My mother lives 2 miles from there and the talk around is that the car had explosives on board which is why the guy was shot multiple times through the windscreen.

Just a heads up that the the latest firmware 3.3.5 blocks a lot of dial capture units. If the HKC panel sees anything under 30v or so you will get a line fault error. MiniAir units and their clones seem to be impacted

Speechless that a 'professional' security company would do this...

Hello I have an issue I was hoping someone here could help me with. I have recently moved into a property with a Veritas 8c alarm fitted. My previous house had the exact same system so I was confident I'd know what to do with it. I changed the code and tried to set it on "full" like before, but zone 4 would lit and 4 successive bleeps are heard. My landlord isn't entirely sure which zone is which... Through a quick search in this forum it seemed to indicate that the patio doors are open. However I've checked them and they are definitely closed. What else can I do to solve the problem? (Another thing which might or might no…

I've installed my G2-44 panel and have added the RF Portal to it successfully. I've managed to add two wireless door contacts which work as they should. However, I'm having issues with the IR800M and IRPI800M wireless detectors. I've only got four of them and can get the panel to identify the serial numbers. The problem starts after they've been left for a while and I try and set the panel and then trigger them or do a walk test. The LEDs flash quickly and the panel doesn't respond when movement is made. When you go through the learning procedure again, it settles after a few minutes and you trigger the panel/walk test they respond. Any longer than a few minutes and the…

  13. What do we think about charging for the APP use to clients, Risco, Eaton is Free both APP & Cloud, HKC charge for both APP & Cloud, Pyronix has Free APP & free Cloud 1st year, then annual subscription, Texecom charge for APP but it uses client direct web connection and needs a degree to programme. Current we include the feature in the annual maintenance agreement, but where clients do not renew which is getting more and more common, we charge, additionally most of the APPS are based on clients broadband, when that faulters from time to time as they do, they want us to fix FOC, thoughts gratefully appreciated

Does anyone have, or know where I can get a schematic for any alarm panel, (Preferably ADE), reason for me asking, I am very interested in engineering and how these panels were designed.I was thinking about making my own panel, using an ATMEL microprocessor, and a custom made PCB. I was mainly interested in seeing how the zones and inputs are connected to the main microprocessor of the control panel (Picture shows what I am assuming to be the PIC microcontroller of an Accenta G3) I'm also interested din the software that the alarm panels run as well, so if anyone knows a little about how they are programmed and what language is used, I'd really appreciate it …

  15. Hi I am looking for a speaker with a sd card in it were I can set pre-recorded messages to activate when a PIR is tripped. I know axis do a ip speaker but I would need a alarm module to trip the the recordings. Has anyone tried doing this or know a better way of doing it. I am looking at doing it for a car park and to play a message saying cctv is being monitored remotely when someone comes into the car park
