HI i have a Optima xm alarm and the tamper alarm keeps sounding for no reason. The battery is fine the tamper switch works ok it only triggers the panel bell and the strobe outside. Can anyone give me a clue what they think it is cheers.

i think ive misunderstood the part set function of my veritas alarm panel (excel , lcd keypad ) my question is if i set zone one of suite one to E/E does this mean the that zone one of the other three suites will be E/E as well or can the zones of the other three be a different program type ? example suite 1 zone 1 E/E suite 2 zone 1 Guard suite 3 zone 1 inhibited suite 4 zone 1 back to E/E ps this is only an example many thanks any help is great

Hi all I would appreciate your advice if that's ok. Here's the issue. I have 4 PIR sensors of unknown manufacturer and I want to replace them with Honeywell Dual TEC DT8016F5 sensors. It should be a straight swap I suppose but when I compare the terminal blocks of the two sensors the PIRs have 8 terminals but the Dual TECs only have 6 terminals. I have attached a picture of each terminal block. The blue one is the PIR. The black one is the new Dual TEC. As you can see, the PIR has 4 connections made: 2 yellow to the "Relay" terminals and 2 to the supply terminals. My question is: which terminals on th…

Would appreciate some guidance. Adding a KX10DP-WE to an enforcer panel, no problem with the learning and set as Intruder input but doing walk test does not trigger a pass, also blue light does not flash on proximity movement. Help!

Hi, i have been running an electrical contractors for 5 - 10 years and over that time we have installed many alarms and CCTV. its kind of got to the point where we have decided to expand intentionally into the security side just for alarms and cctv as quite honestly it's easier cleaner work to a degree. Currently we are installing about 30 alarm systems a year and probably 6 lots of cctv. We only fot Hikvision CCTV and Pyronix for alarms. my questions are: 1. Do I or as a business need to register as a contractor with the SIA? 2. How do I go about getting an enhanced DBS check as seems to be more for …

Hi a question, with the euro 46 control panel having 8 inputs/zones that's 8 sensors. Right ? So when i add the LCD panel to the control panel I can add another input direct to the lcd panel. So have 9 inputs/zone total is that right ? One other question Magnetic contacts would you run more than 1 on each input/zone ie a window with 2 openings. And have the contacts in series. ? Does anyone else have issues when using G3 roller door contacts. We have issues on two sites where we have such contacts. We have 2 per door. They randomly go fault, mask and open circuit. Fitted to a galaxy and wired and mounted as per instructions. Any ideas?

Hi Im currently renovating our house so all floors and ceilings are gone, I have run 6 core wire to where I'm having pir's, keypad, bellbox etc and back to a central location. I have also run cctv RG59 cable (3 cameras). now my question is, Is there a box that will control alarm and cctv or will it have to be 2 separate boxes?. I also want phone alerts when either detect something. Many thanks

I was bored the other day & was messing at work, using Wireshark I can see everything on my network sending packets of data (whatever) as expected. Our alarm signals via a TCD,oddly I can't see any data connected to its IP ? I can see data when I ping..... Being just a simple alarm monkey... can anyone explains whats happening ?

So I'm installing my alarm at home it's a bungalow and fitting a pyronix euro 46 app hard wired. So question is can I run the whole system with just window sensors and door contacts rather than PIRs . I have a very active cat and I'm not sure even pet PIRs are any good ?. What's people's thoughts or recommendations ? Many thanks Mark

Hi, I am looking for an outdoor perimeter alarm system. I have only just started my research so my knowledge is limited. Evening gents I'm looking to add some wireless detectors onto RF RIO on my brothers alarm system... one snag.. he has two cats. I have always found a way to bypass dogs setting alarms off but not cats.. is there anything else to try? I've always used BOSCH Blue line detectors.. I think the only conceivable option is to restrict the cats. Shut them in one room and allow the alarm to carry out its job. As a trial i will leave them on soak test first anyway so i'll know if i'll be facing any issues this way

I'm after a manual please, I can't find one anywhere. its the standalone prox with controller! im hoping I can delete all old tags as customer only has 1 working tag left! Been told galaxy tags work with it!!

Hi Guys & Girls Finally got Miniair set up after some trial and error, found a solution to the keyswitch as CSL did not know. I told CSL how I done it buy using Bentley Toggle Relay to a Keyswitch Zone. they went and placed order next day, I got a nice thank you from Bentleys. Only issue now is I'm sending Contact ID to ARC however the ARC software is automatically handling the alarm as it's seeing the Zone Restoral. Is there away to stop the Zone Restoral ? I've looked manual high low can't find it, can only see mention for send restores after reset for Fast Format. TIA, Joe
