Evening gents I appreciate we are all in the trade and therefor competitors.. but i was just wondering do you guys know where I can get Hikvision IP cameras/NVR's for cheaper than joe public?? I'm in the birmingham area so i have suppliers like ADI, traders warehouse & enterprise security close by. Specifically what i'm after is a decoder by Acti which usually retails about 350 quid?! Any of you know where i can get that a tad cheaper?

Hi I have an agility 3 with GMS module & IP module The alarm is working correctly, and the app notify me of alarm notifications. What I have wanted to sort out is SMS notifications for set/unset events. I have a TESCO PAYG sim card in place with enough credit. The check balance function works fine, but the follow me won't notify me of set and unset events. I have set the SMS centre number, and defined the follow me numbers - ensuring the correct events have been selected. However on set/unset I get no sms messages. If I send an SMS to the panel such as <user code>ST - I get an appropriate respon…

I'll start from the begining. Moved into my flat around 1.5 years ago and as a gift my aunty had a home alarm installed with monitoring from a local company here in Edinburgh. For the first few months the monitoring company weren't calling any key holders when the home alarm was activated and to make things worse I was being charged regularly on my phone bill for calls to an 0844 number.. I was refunded the money and the panel was reset to fix the calling out to 0844 numbers and to make sure the monitoring company call me if the alarm is set off... Hi all, thanks for your help with my last thread regarding an existing alarm in the house, now that's all sorted I have another question. There is an existing 9651 panel there that seems to be only around 2 years old, so I'm looking into fitting a dialler so that it rings my mobile. Can anyone recommend a specific dialler and how to go about this. thanks again

So I'm going to fit an alarm to my new bungalow. Have narrowed it down to a Euro 46 pryronix Not decided on PIRs yet as i want to understand about pet ones as i have a cat that wonders . Looking at the instructions it seems ok to fit. I have never fitted one but am up to speed with electrics. Any one got any advice with these, good control panel ? Easy to fit and programming ? Hope someone can help I was getting some work done in my kitchen and found a loose white cable that didn't go anywhere so I traced it back to the wall and cut it guess what the alarm went off! I traced the other end of the cable and turns out it went into a pir sensor in another room the loose end of the cable I can now only assume went to a sensor for the back door that end of the cable must of had all 8 cables twined into one as only one cable was sticking out i thought the simplest thing was to disconnect the cut cable from the pir sensor and the alarm would work again. Just been programming a GD48 up for a panel replacement tomorrow and I've noticed 2 extra keypad addresses in menu 58. I don't recall seeing them before when on a GD48. 2 keypads that are on the system are addresses 10 and 11 but further along I have 50 and 51 too? Max readers in the keypads or addresses for virtual keypads? Ta

I'm expecting to initially take whatever half decent job I can find but I'll be looking for jobs similar to what I'm currently doing in the UK. I'm a qualified sparky but I've been doing fire, intruder, CCTV and access control for the last seven years for a rather large company. Hi all, I was asked whether I could monitor a rental property for water leaks. Ive come up with the idea of a G2-12 panel in the loft with honeywells water sensors under the sink. Linked through the panel to a relay to turn off the 240vac to a power solenoid on the stop ****. It's 240vac as I didn't want to fit a power supply under the sink although they work from 5vdc to 240vac! what does everyone think???

Hi All, I did read many post on the forum before starting this one so please excuse me im im repeating someone else question. Im in the middle of trialing a Texecom Odyssey bell box (X-BE) with a visonic powermax complete. I have connected the expander module and that works fine as I also tested a voice box. Now, when it comes to this siren im getting a strange tamper issue. When I open the lid to to release the tamper on the siren the powermax complete panel shows no trouble lights but still says Not ready to arm (z30 open) however I have the siren ringing (because the tamper is open). Hi, I'm in need of some help/advice please. I'm tying to find out how to reset the master and engineer codes, with only the user code known. The system was installed by ADT but is now no longer serviced by them. I'm getting false alarms on one of the PIR's every so often. I would like to programme this out of the system to test and reprogramme a new compatible PIR in if necessary. I don't believe this can be done with only the user code? Not sure if you have enough info here. Please let me know if not. Thanks in advance for any help.
