Following on again from the LPS 1277 topic and after the dual path fail test on a redcare GSM this afternoon I did exactly the same on a Grade 3 Dualcom GPRS. Powered down at 15:20 9/3/12 as shown in this video. Last signal currently shown is the tamper from when i put the galaxy into engineers to open the panel. ie no GPRS fail or PSTN single path failures. Much less a confirmed comm fail (ie both paths down). System not put on test (as it wouldnt be in the wild if it was attacked. Exactly the same procedure as the redcare test. Unit is still powered down, im hoping that something will show up at some point....... Last Checked at ARC @ 19:12 9/3/12

Hi All I'm working on a Honeywell galaxy dimesion panel 520 V6.7 which i installed a few years ago. all is well with the panel until i have come to install a MAX4 reader V1.77 for a access door. this is currently the only MAX4 on the system. I have followed the install instructions and double checked the wiring for the RS485 and all is correct. I have also added the MAX4 to the system and given it address 0 on network 4, there is nothing else on network 4 using address 0. the issue I have is the reader appears to be working fine until you try to use a fob and 1 out of 3 times it will work fine, the other times the system goes into alarm say…

I recently found that the keypad on my Optima XM alarm was not working. I have changed the battery and managed to get it working. After doing this I decided to do a walk test to confirm that everything was working. Everything is working except zone 4 which has a PIR on the landing and a PIR in the kitchen. The PIR's both flash when I walk past but do not trigger the alarm. All connections appear to be OK The system was installed by builder 20 years ago and has worked well throughout (2 new batteries) Is it likely to be a faulty PIR? How do I find out which one? Thanks

Hi folks, I recently stripped out 6 ansul systems. I wasn't sure what to do with them, do they have any resale value as spares/repairs or should I just dispose of them? Any info would be great thanks

Can anyone see Honeywell/ADE releasing a newer Accenta G5? Or do you think they will keep the G4 going and just discontinue it, if people no longer buy them anymore?

Good Afternoon chaps I have a client that wants to consult the log to track staff setting and unsetting, he wants to have a print off or E-mail of the log every three months. I am after Galaxy upload download software that will work for the G2-44. As I only have 2 Galaxy panels installed at the moment I can't warrant spending the money for the new software, can anybody help. I'm happy to spend a reasonable amount of money, also I'd like to know if there is any ongoing subscription for the software. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks Matt

Hi, I'm not an expert (so keep any responses simple please !) but need some advice... We have an alarm issue at one of our sites, the alarm (a national name) company has investigated and has said that the line is the issue, more accurately they have said that the line is a 'single tap' line which is preventing a reset. It's not a term I am familiar with, our phone supplier is equally baffled... any ideas as to what this means and what steps are required to rectify it ? I'm trying to get an explanation from the alarm company but they are being very slow in responding. Thanks in anricipation.

Hi all, Just wanted to get peoples views on the Galaxy G2 panel line as Honeywell seem to have replaced it with the Flex line without actually removing the G2 product line.

What are your opinions as security engineers on the 'anti-code'? I believe that it is the same as 'Engineer reset on tamper. I bet it isn't popular with customers. If it is even used by anyone. (Extract taken from Accenta 8 instructions)
