I have a Powermaster 10 and have just bought an external siren (MCS-730) and the Powerlink3 module. I can't enrol the siren. There is no enrol button on the pcb and I have tried pressing the test button but this just sets off the alarm. The Powerlink module doesn't work either. Option 7 in the setup menu doesn't exist and the manual says that if this is the case, then make sure it's installed properly. It only has a flat ribbon cable and network lead, so not much to do wrong there. The packet was labelled Tyco and I wondered if it was specific to them? Hi all, Got a job with an elite 24 on, the pcb is being swapped in a couple of weeks for a 48 due to expansion of the site. Any idea what size pcb pillars we'll need to fit the 48 into the metal case?

Hi there good afternoon. I bought my Defender 3000 in the year 2000. It has served me well since then but has lately started to give spurious alarms and I get the impressipn the spare parts are difficult to source. I decided to bin this one and buy some form of wireless alternative. I mentioned this to the guy who maintains it annually and he wasn't too happy about it. What I would like to know is what is the sequence of events to stop the alarm going off when I turn the mains power and start opening the box to remove the battery backup. I assume that if I just turn the power supply off at the mains, the battery will kick in and the alarm stay armed. What is t…

Now HiK have dropped the ddns service for this p2p ****, what are people's recommendations for DVR's that offer this? ADI budget stuff WBOX says it offers DDNS but that has also expired. I know Samsung offers the ipolis however it's about more pricey. any thoughts? Opinions?

About 12 months ago I fitted a Texecom Premier Elite wireless system. The system commissioned without any problems and walk test was fine. The system consists of 6 PIR's, 4 Dual and 2 Quads. Since then I have had 4 false alarms, all on the Quad PIR's . The first 2 (about 2 months apart was on the landing PIR, one at about 5 in morning and one mid afternoon. I could see no reason for the alarm. PIR facing a number of closed doors and no windows. In the end I changed this out for a Dual PIR. Last night I had the second false alarm in the dining room. Regarding a Accenta G3..When altering the three programming suites 1,2 & 3 how do you select zone type immediate for a sensor? Say I want zone 4 to have a zone type of immediate how do I change this? I know if i need i can turn on entry deviate in Flag B menu. Their system was set up so that ZONE 1 WAS TIMED ZONE 2 WAS TIME INHIBIT ZONE 3 WAS IMMEDIATE... zone 4 is the E/E pit by the front door but under Program 1 zones 3-8 to set are set as immediate??? Can the function be changed... or would i just have to swap the zones in the panel (so that zone 4 e/e would now be zone 2 timed inhibit) thanks gents

Evening what are you guys using to keep track of urns etc? As we are part of a lager organisation we don't use industry specific alarm management software, we are tied to HQ's by ISO was management software so things like this are on spreadsheets still, which is a pain and needs updating Is there anything "off the shelf" that can keep progress of warning letters/ lost response etc?

I have a ptz cam that fed by fibre to an encoder then fed to cam via coax and separate twin pair telemetry. I did hard reboot on cam and now I have this on camera screen Vps 4800-101 Duplex - And I'm not sure what this means or why its appeared any help would be great

I have an optima compact alarm system which has stopped working. It just makes a clicking noise, non of the buttons function and the only light lit is the power light. The only way I can stop it is to disconnect it from the mains supply. Can anyone help me please?

Hi All I'm after some advice, a customer has a alarm on there workshop which is about 60 meters away from the main building. there is no link between the workshop alarm and the main building alarm but they want the workshop alarm monitoring via the emizon module in the main building. The issue I have is it is not possible to run a cable from the workshop to the main building so i was looking for some way to setup a wireless link where i can wire the workshop alarm into a transmitter which would trigger a relay in the main building. Has anyone seen or have a link to a device that would do this? Thanks Dan.

My 10yr old SL8 compact alarm has stopped working after a power failure. It's got a a new battery and the power light is on at the main box. But the control panel is unresponsive; the number buttons are all illuminated but weirdly the power LED and zone LEDs are all off. Any ideas?
