Bit of goss i came across today, which has since been confirmed, Chubb has bought out Westcountry Security. For those of you who havent heard of them, they were the largest independant security company in the South West, worked for them for two and a half years a while ago, certainly an eye opener, yeeehaaaa comes to mind. Work it out! So one less company to quote against so my boss is chipper today.

Hi Guys, I need your vast wealth of knowledge. I have been in the security industy for the last sixteen years have recently left the a large national company A*T. I have alway dreamed of owning my own business so I thought why not and started to set up a company after about 1 year of research. In the end I decided to buy a local company when the guy wanted to retire so I've been running it now for about 2 months. I'm very busy at the moment so all is well. I want to grow the company so I'm in the process of my NSI application. At the moment I get my work from word of mouth and my contacts I have built up over the years. I looking now at advertising and was wondering if Y…

Well people, A good day all around was had, managed to get a few pics of the motley crew. From Left to right, Lurchio, Peter James, Nova, JB Eye and Bri. Back row Jpaul and his business partner. Richl was also there but was just out of camera shot. Was nice to see everybody again. Prize for best freebie must go to Paxton access for their USB memory sticks. RISCO group had some natty little tool pouches and Matt from Concept smoke stuffed our arms full of mouse mats and mobile phone holders (in his cunning plan to chuck me and lurch in the demo room) LJD had the usual collection of busty beauties wandering around, as did CSL but I didn't manage to get one of t…

I'm not a qualified spark so I, use a qualified electricain to install all my spurs, if my customer doesn't have a preferred choice of electrician already. I recently spoke to one that informed me that due to the new Part P regs adding a new spur on to an existing circuit can only be done if the circuit wiring the spur is being added to complies to Part P? For some reason (I think I may have read it on the forum) I was of the understanding that adding a spur to an existing circuit is acceptable, but adding a new circuit to the system needs to complie with the new regs??? Can any of the sparks on the forum clear this up????? Steve

Hey all, Ive been wondering for a while now so here goes: I have a galaxy 60 in my home/business (home = flat over business) i previously worked for an alarm company, so i have the knowledge... I installed the system myself and still keep it all checked over quite regually ext. I am wondering how, if possible, i could have a room in the building protected constantly by the alarm, and be able to either disable the protection via nearest keypad before entering the room OR enter the room, then de-activate a timer Then i would like it to be able…

I was talking to my mate on way back from IFSEC and we got onto the subject of criminals. A thought I had was how many Criminal masterminds would be at IFSEC, and how easy it was to get tickets for the event. My mate who i went with last year is not even in the industry, He just made some company up on the registration page and got a ticket through the post. Anyway wot i was thinking was that how many criminals do this to check out the latest products and find out how they work, know how to act around them and possible flaws in the system. What do you think? do you think they should do some kind of screening?
