The last few moths I have had a real nightmare when handing over systems. I may have just been unlucky and got some really thick and stupid customers. Last nite I finished the install by 5pm and was still there at 7pm trying to expalin to the customer how to use it.He must have set it at least 20 times to make sure he could get it. And i didnt even change the make of control panel, i just grade to a bigger model and added an extra area. May be its beacuse until Febuary this year 95% of my work was comercial/indstrial, and it s only since i've been doing some work for the Hex(as some of you call it) residential side i have been doing a lot of domestic. Thing is im getti…

I have a new panel TS900+. I have connected my TSDCI lead to the Digi Modem header on the panel and set the jumper on the TSDCI to DCI/PCI... I have connected the DCI lead to my com1 port and told the software it was on this port.... My problem is I can't seem to get the software to communicate with the panel its showing OFF LINE!.... The panel is new and in its factory reset state with no keypad connected... Is it possible its not communicating because there is no keypad connected? Thanks for any help.... Steve

Hi all, I have been installing alarms for about 8 years. This includes hundreds of domestic alarms, a heap of small factories and shops(up to about 16 devices) and also about 5 large systems (200+ detectors). I also have experience with CCTV systems having installed around 50 small systems (up to 8 cameras). I know Winpak and Nstar very well (I work for honeywell at the moment) and am about to learn the galaxy panel (still waiting for manuals and panels from the UK). I know how to program numerous panels here (Australia) and learn new ones very quickly. How much of a salary would i be payed in the UK installing, servicing or programming alarms, access etc???? Do any pa…

I have started employment with a new company and their cm/pm report sheets are completly different with my old company their were 3 carbon copies of with were used for OFFICE,CUSTOMER,ENGINEER MANAGER. With this new place its just one sheet with no copy to the customer and when they run short they just run off a load of the photo-copier with no individual report number to each sheet. Is this ok or do you have to have report numbers to each sheet and im sure the customer should at least get one?
