Just had my knuckles wrapped and threatened with expulsion for not making any posts. Fair I suppose but I don't want excluding from this useful forum. Just like to thank all those who offer their experience to help others and hope I can do the same in the future. Pete

Hello everyone, Recently I was informed that an alarm that is still quite good to install is taken off the list of insurance companies approved list of alarms for no rhyme or reason. When I quizzed them about this sudden decision they informed me that they keep replacing the old systems with the new ones as and when the new systems come out to the market. Their logic was that the newer systems are invariably always better than the old one. Frankly if you ask me this just seems like a collusion between insurance company & the alarm company. One day an alarm that is good enough to be on their approved list is no longer on it the next. Has anyone else encountered t…

Hi guys Just thought I'd drop in and say hi . Some of you might even remember me ) Yes its true I left the industry for a while to try my hand at something new. Well you can fill in the gaps but lets just say I left the industry but in a sad way it refused to leave me , So back I came. Expect lots of post and an 19 years of experiance. Just ask and I'll try to help. As always should anyone need my services drop me a line and I'll do my best. Just to add I now offer sales and staff training as well as my system design , loss prevention packages. Thats enough of my waffle for now. Take care all and have fun .

  9. British Telecom are upgrading there networks to the new 21st Century Network and have changed the line specification. THIS WILL AFFECT ARC TRANSMITTING DEVICES. 21CT network is under tests but will be rolling out across the entire network later this year. 21CT is expected to introduce a delay to the signal between the ARC and communicator by a maximum of 85ms. But the standard for uk telephone systems has been increased to a maximum of 300ms. The ARC receiver manufacturers,Bold and Sur-Guard, have spent time adjusting their systems and testing vaious products to see if they still fuction. OK this timing change can effect the Digital communicator's but the signals …

On Wednesday at 2 in the morning I was returning from a call out. I was followed by the old bill for several miles (pity these guys don't have something better to do with their time).... eventually when we got onto a dual carriageway the expected happened: Blue lights. So I stopped ... the cop came to me and came out with the usual drivel, "Are we in a rush sir?" He then accused me of doing 80mph... which I definately wasn't. I told him there was no way I was doing 80. I was doing 70. He got quite excited because I had adnmitted doing 70 and told me that I was in a 60 mph limit. I asked him how long it had been 60, and he said "Always". So I asked him where the signs a…
