We used to put our old batteries in a bin outside the wholesalers for disposal, but they had to bring the bin inside due to theft of the batteries. So being a bit slow, we thought hmmm, money. I wondered if anyone knew the value of them. We've kept abt a months worth (guessing abt 50) and realise must be down to weight. I dont want to be driving round trying to flog a couple of knackeed 2.1s. What does everyone else do now.

Afternoon all Because there are only three of us over here in the Isle of Man, we cover Intruder systems, Fire systems, CCTV, EAS, Access, Prison systems, Extinguishing, Nursecall, PA, and basically all aspects of what ADT sell. Working a 1 in 3 callout rota does take its tolls on the old social life etc. My daughter is 8 today and ive been out 4 times already . I was just wondering if its the same for you guys? do you: a) Work in a weekly rota B) Get at least one call per day c) Find it is customer error or faulty equipment more often than not and d) Find the callouts are usually quick fixes (except prison systems) I know there is another topic somewhere …

I've worked for quite a few companies over the years, some good, some very bad, both as an employee and latterly as a subbie. I'm not going to name names. Some of these companies would quite happily have you lie to customers, and in fact actively encourage you to sell systems and equipment to people who didn't need it (or tell them their system/panel/detectors needed to be replaced when there was nothing wrong with it and generally act in a dishonest fashion. I may be many things but dishonest I am not. Had some fallings out over that kind of behaviour. Just wondering if others have had similar experiences re. employers. Oh changed my mind about the naming names, but…

Just wondering if anyone has bought or even used the xtend and climb pro ladders. On first instinct many of you, like myself, probably wouldnt touch telescopic ladders with a bargepole. However theyve been highly reccomended to me by a friend of mine who swears by them. Just looking at buying a smaller pair of ladders to the ones i currently have. I thought the plus point of these would be i can just throw them in the boot of the car. Other than getting my ladders out of garage puttint them on the roof rack, clamping etc. So any feedback off anybody who has a pair or has used a pair would be appreciated. Thanks

Care to talk about spy cameras anyone? I bought a sample recently and it's ok, however I think this is more of a toy rather than something really practical.. http://security-made-easy.blogspot.com/

Hi, maybe somebody would know of a good quality MPEG-4 DVR card with low bandwidth requirements for a full D1 remote viewing at 16 channels. Existing Internet bandwidth is just around 1.5 Mbps, our current ones cannot run under the setup. I have an existing issue with this one. Suggestions will be most welcome.
