Hi there Went to a site yesterday to solve some of there cctv problems they were having. One camera in particular is behaving oddly. First the guards on site said the picture went grey, which it had due to somebody activating privicy all round the full 360 scene. But then every time an automatic gate is opened, which is below the dome, it moves the dome sending it into a short tour. Not being up to the dome yet as a lift is required, just wondering if any of you had any thoughts.

Sorry folks if this topic has allready been covered, but my question is this . All the engineers at our place are expected to take part in an on call rota , fair enough it goes with the territory and we all know the pay is diabolical considering the anti social aspect of it all . However i often wonder about the legality of driving around in the middle of the night whilst completely knackered. Our company do a mid week rota and a weekend rota , and you are still expected to work your normal hours as well , so picture this scenario... Monday 08.30- 5.00pm , then on call from 5.01-08.29am Tuesday, Tuesday 08.30- 5.00pm, then on call from 5.01- 08.29 Weds, Weds 08.30- 5.…

  8. to get back to the original question in the tittle and setting aside if the officers do or do not bother, this is the sam argument for/against intruder alarms. we all field the "i hear alarms but nobody takes any notice' query, so we explain having a system is better than not, they may will never have a break-in, and like insurance its prudent but hope you never need to call on it, if they are unlucky, at least with a system installed the intruder is more likely to leave quicker reducing lose and damage, propelled in most cases by the risk of a meeting with a neighbour or the angry home owner than if he burgles a house without one. same applies with cctv, the fact a cam…

In 1999 the ODPM's Part M regs came into effect, relating to Disabled Access provisions to properties. Part of this reg states that all sockets, light switches, controls, etc, should now be mounted between a minimum height of 450mm and a max of 1200mm. When you boys are installing in a 'new build' for example, that needs to comply, do you adhere to that when mounting the Keypad, or do you mount it at a sensible height so that little Johnny can't play with it ? Also, we fitted a video intercom recently and were 'reminded' to fit that below 4 ft. by the resident 'facilities management' dept. The receptionist has now realised that if the caller is 'able bodied' she gets…
