A wealthy old lady decides to go on a photo safari in Africa, taking her faithful aged poodle named Cuddles, along for the company. One day the poodle starts chasing butterflies and before long, he discovers that he's lost. Wandering about, he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction, clearly with the intention of having lunch. The old poodle thinks, "Oh, oh! I'm in deep trouble now!" Noticing some bones on the ground close by, he immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap the old poodle exclaims loudly, "Boy, that was one delicious leopard! I wonder if there are any more arou…

Dear All, Did you know that with average speed cameras if you change lane between 2 of them it does not pick you up as it is only the 2 on 1 side that are connected !!! Something for you guys to remember if you need to get somewhere quick without being caught !

hello guys Can anyone please advise as what the problem could be, I have a Scantronic 9751 panel connected to a Texecom 3E bell box & the bell will just go off for no reason without any faults/alerts on the keypad. The only you can turn the bell off is by disconnecting the 12V supply to the Bell Box. Entering customer/engineer codes do not stop the bell either. The System was installed about 6 months ago, but the bell problem has only happened now. Also I have replaced the cable to bell as I thought it might be damaged bit as it was run in the loft. Any suggestions please Thank You Arv

How many of you have had a speeding ticket issued as a result of triggering a speed camera, and just paid up ? I had one recently, claiming that I was doing 46 MPH in a 30 zone, - not in my own car, which is fitted with a GPS warning device. While I knew I was probably over 30, 46 seemed a bit high, and as there is a petrol station only about 50 yards from the Camera, the automatic doors of which used to set off my Snooper, I thought I

Hi All, Im feeling a bit upset today and thought I would share it with you all. After 3 visits to 3 sites I have told XXXXX that their unit does not work with the Dimension panel. At first they fobbed me off with signal strength blah blah blah, persistant that I am I got them to rig one up in their office, problem is they have never tested it with the Dimension panel!! They got back to me a couple of hrs later and held their hands up and are now sending replacement reds. Manufacturers - Please test your equip as we are fed up with being guinea pigs.

I know nothing about intruder alarms really other than that I want to get a real top-end quality system that will provide the ultimate in security and flexibility with the least number of false alarms. It's for my 4-bed detached home and I'm thinking of a wired system that would be able to dial out, in the event of the alarm triggering, using both BT line and the mobile network. There's obviously a huge choice of equipment out there and difficult to get impartial advice. I wondered if any of you guys who actually install intruder alarms could tell me what system you would ideally use in your own place if quality rather than cost was the object. I'll be getting it professi…

Hi all I need a bit of help from all you superb alarm engineers whom have moved into CCTV. I am looking at using a GJD GSM autodialer (HYL005) with one of my DVR's. I want the DVR alarm output (NO dry contacts going closed on alarm condition) to be interfaced with the autodialer. I have downloaded the autodialer manual from GJD's website and looking through the connections, the manual states that both triggers are "bell/siren switched negative, this unit will not operate off a switched ground" Would someone be so kind to explain what switched negative is. I've heard it mentioned on numerous occasions but having only worked on NO, NC dry contacts on a CCTV system, i ha…

Had a wee capture on the home cctv system today. I had installed a camera to watch the driveway/vehicles etc. Anyways, the laddie parked his car up as usual this morning and when we popped home at lunchtime he noticed a big dent in the rear bumper banghead . Played back ye old faithful dvr and hey presto! captured! One of the neighbours visitors reversed into it. Approached the neighbour, and 10mins later had a phone call with the insurance details. Conveniently, the woman driver hadn't noticed hitting it Hmmmmmm I dont think so
