Hello everyone thanks for reading this and thanks in advance for your help ! So so we have moved into a new house and have an alarm fitted , we are after something a little better and nicer looking . At the moment we have a Honeywell accenta , with 5 standard pirs , an alarm box outside and keypad at the front door . So pretty simple I think , the wiring is standard 8 core alarm cable . We would like a nicer looking keypad especially maybe even a touch screen , and need 5 pirs which are pet tolerent for the dog and cat . I am happy to change the lot if needs be or just the panel and pirs . so what would you guys suggest ? …

Hi chaps. I am new on here so have introduced myself on the new members section and I am just after a bit of advice. I am sure this has been covered many times in the past but I cannot find any comprehensive information on the subject. Basically after 10 years working for a major company I want to go it alone. The easiest option would be to set up as a sole trader and take sub contract work from my existing company, but I want to have my own customers as well in the end. Now I can install and service the equipment fine, but I am not too clued up on the admin side of it. I have a few questions. Again, sorry if this has been covered, I can't find anything concre…

How is the industry in general. I'm super quiet at the moment, as quiet as I've known it in many years. I've spoken to some local companies, and one or two of the lads working for the nationals, everyone seems quiet. I'm self employed and generally have enough contract work for 2-3 weeks in advance, in the last six weeks I've worked 1-2 days a week and the order book is empty. The van hasn't turned a wheel this week yet! Worrying to say the least!

  9. Hi The attempt to panic the general public on wireless home security systems has reached the Daily Mail today 2nd May see article about a major multi nationals [SAMSUNG] attempt into US home security market found wanting over its use of an APP to control the systems basic operation , they even kindly post a how to on you tube of the university of Michigan carrying out the hack. The headlong rush towards the smart home all in one box and mobile apps needs to be regulated before our industry opens PANDORA'S BOX and we allow one way wireless and poorly encrypted data to escape from the diy market

Hi guys, can anyone help me out with the following. I have an accenta compact. My problems first started with zone 1 which is a PIR. The keypad was showing the zone 1 LED and the internal sounder was producing a rapid tone. This was preventing the system being armed. I joined through the the alarm and tamper pair in the PIR and the above stopped and I could arm the system. So I replaced this PIR. The system then allowed me to arm. However, the following day external siren was activated but There was no indication as to what caused the alarm. I then had trouble silencing the external sounder. The system would even allow me to…

  12. Hi Guys, Anyone know how to make voice calls on the Risco Agility 3? I want to have a 2-way voice call with main unit for discussion with the intruder! I have allowed incoming calls (Programming -> System -> Controls -> Advanced -> Disable Incoming Call -> N). I am trying to call the sim card phone number (tested on a mobile and it works).
