I need a zone configured as a keyswitch to remotely reset via an autodialler. The zone types available don't appear to have the option only ksw bat, which doesn't do anything. The 2nd part of the zone type where you can select norm/bias is fine but can't seem to figure out how to set the system with the zone types available. I've tried it on zone 5 and zone 8 but nothing. I'm using eol and can see res change from 11k to 4k7 ok. Any advise would be good if anyone else has done this on this particular panel

Hi, I am looking for help please. I have installed the above alarm at home and have a problem. I am getting the fault code ' Tamper Fault Lockout' I suspect the issue is with the bell box as everything else looks to be ok. It is a Honeywell AG6 Bell Box and when installing there was a sheet inside the box saying to wire differently to the installation manual. I have also tried another wiring diagram I found on a previous post n here but still no joy. It appears that there is only 1x tamper wire coming back from the bell box - Is this correct? I have the following terminals n the bell box - TR-, S-, V+, V-, ST- Can anyone confirm to which the T A D B wires from the control…

Discovered an Optima 2 Plus panel today on my travels, went to do a full service for the customer. When attempting to set, i had 6,5 & 2 on the visual display, obviously zone faults... However, i checked all cables, terminations & present voltage at the detectors. All came back fine. What else could this be? The only thing I did not try today was replacement sensors (they are as old as the hills) I'll hold my hand up and admit I've seen this panel maybe three times so i'm not overly familiar with it. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi folks. Quick question. ATS 2003 panel, keypad 1 & 3 set up to set/unset areas1 & 3 only and has no menu access for engineer or user. Key pad 2 is the main keypad and allows access to menus for user and engineer. However some clever fellow has accidentally unpolled keypad 2, therefore not allowing access to menus for the system. The system can be dialled into by security company (we have just been asked to do a bit of work for them). Because when I was on site and had no access to menus etc I phoned them to see if they would poll the keypad remotely but they said they couldn't. Does anyone know if this is correct and if it is does anyone have any ideas on how I …

  8. Hi All just fitted a new alarm panel went to connect battery and like an idiot connected the terminals the wrong way round blew the battery fuse. Replaced the fuse with an exact one fitted it connected the battery the right way round and blew that. Checked for shorts but fuse keeps blowing is there any chance that I have goosed the battery. I know the battery was OK as earlier I did have it connected the right way and it worked all help would be gratefully received

  10. I'd like to properly demonstate that graded wireless alarms aren't immune to jamming and replay attacks. In 2012/2013, I found that a Cooper iON alarm could be jammed and replayed, as it uses 1-waay RF and the protocol seems pretty legacy. What other 1-way alarms are on the market? Texecom is 2-way, Pyronix is 2-way, HKC is 2-way.

I'm currently knocking up a new leaflet to distribute around my area. Going to make full use of the Mrs being on maternity leave and give her something to do whilst she takes the boy out for a stroll in the pram! We live on a ten year old estate and in a recent power outage the number of alarms going into meltdown as their batteries hadn't been replaced in ten years was ridiculous. The number of bells still strobing after a month from no resets was even even more surprising. Since moving there I've had no end of neighbours asking for resets, services and quotes for new systems, so I'm sure I'll get a bit of business out of 30 quids worth of leaflets. …
