I've been trying to find answers for those questions for few day already and can not find them anywhere. If someone can help me please I will be grateful 1.What are the four parts to an intruder alarm system? 2.Describe how you would measure and test an end of line circuit if the circuit was suspected of having a fault. 3.Strobes are often found to be fitted to external sounders. They tend to be wired independent of the siren so they can be powered and energised separately. What could be the reason for this? 4.The power supply unit (PSU) carries out a number of tasks. a) What is the actual value of the regulated supply voltage tha…

Hi Looking to add some extra zones to a castle care euro mini 10 panel , and the UR2-WE seems a easier option ,but not used one before . It has 2 outputs each capable of 10 detectors or contacts etc will it be possible to set different detectors to entry route ,or intruder etc or what ever you set one to there all the same on that output effectively giving you 1 zone with 10 detectors on it thanks

I have been called out to an IP PTZ camera which had video loss. I have tested the power on camera and seems to look OK camera does self testing properly. I have tested out CAT5 cable and there is nothing wrong with cable. Any clue what can be the fault ? Or its just camera went faulty ?

Hi, I have a Scantronic Burglar Alarm. The code buttons are getting a bit worn, which makes it difficult to enter the code. I have changed the code a couple of times, so I can press buttons that have not had as much wear. I can acquire a control panel to replace the existing one. Is this a job that I could do myself, or is there a lot of re-wiring involved. Regards.

The modern day PIR incorporates a multitude of features and is available in many different versions. Give two examples of these features.

Hi all I'm currently looking at a CCTV design for a cemetery. Unfortunately it'e one of the edge of town cemeteries as a result of the churchyard full to the brim, and therefore theres no electricity. The customer would like a wireless battery system, but for what they want it for I don't think its going to work. They do have a shed which the NVR is likely to be located, and its got a decent sized roof for a solar panel, so I'm looking at a Solar solution to provide a 12V supply with a battery capacity for 18-24hrs backup. I'm aiming to use a low power NVR with built in POE, or a separate switch depending on power usage (seems like every Watt is going to…

Hello, We have a SD1 dialler installed in your house. This was installed some years ago and has worked with no problems, up until recently. If the alarm is triggered, we have three numbers programmed to call to alert of an activation. We are now in a position where the recipient of the call cannot acknowledge the call by pressing '8', and in turn the message will keep repeating itself until trying the next caller. When trying to press '8', the recipient can hear a couple of clicks and nothing else. Previously, this acknowledged the call and a small melody was played. I wondered whether this may be an issue with the particular phone, how…

I've got an older SPC keypad which has no addressing wheels (but otherwise identical looking to Siemens / Vanderbilt models) There are two ports / pins on the top left rear, one marked 'Z8'. These are present on newer PCBs but without the pins. However, even on the older keypad there are no jumpers fitted (at least on my one) and no numbers marked... How do you set / address these older keypads...?
