Hi, I have a Texecom Veritas 8 alarm fitted to our house and the control panel battery is due for replacement. The system has two bell boxes, one remote keypad, three PIR's, one sound bomb and one master blaster fitted. What amp battery should I get as I would like at least 12 hours standby time. It has a 1.7amp one fitted at the monment.

Hi Ok moved in to a new house, which happens to have an Omnicron 8000 alarm fitted. The problem I have is that the previous owners left no manual, and no idication as to what the code is. Since moving in and decorating of course, it would seem that the steam ( i think) from the wallpaper stripper has triggered the alarm off. Unfortunately without the necessary code etc, I cannot turn off the alarm, and have therefore resorted to saving my sanity, and turned the electricity off at the main supply. Is there anyway to turn off the infernal racket without turning the electricity itself off. I would like to reset the alarm with my own code etc. Thanks

This tax grabbing Government are at war with the motorist with special SAS action aimed at 'white van man' Next week if you are the next size bigger than a Transit there is a speed restriction on you I believe about 56MPH. The reason is because it will allegedly cure the terror of the white van!! Then if you have a 4x4 God help you (I suppose a 4x4 Fiat Panda is included) and sorry for all you 4x4 drivers i.e Rav4 etc who have a better low emmisions rate than most cars YOU ARE POLUTERS! Perhaps if we all got trade bikes again this might make the lefty Hippy types happy. I am perhaps under some type of illusion that the environment is better now than when I was a bo…

Just a question to seek views: Part P covers wet area's i.e kitchen's and bathroom's The law states part p is required for all electrical work in those area's which includes low voltage 12v systems, fortunatly an allowance in law has permitted kitchen s to be exempt. There is no allowance for bathroom's !! Test requirement's for part p require a 500v insulation test not a good idea for 12v systems !!!! You do a bungalow with a vulnerable bathroom, what do YOU personally do ! I believe NACOSS are a bit iffy on this one. Views welcome :

We are having a company mid life crisis (appart fom my current staff problem) I was just wondering how you guys manage handling your phones? You will all have a local contact number or 0800 like us, but who is on the end of it when you are out on the tools. My missus looks after our phones and when she goes out she diverts to her mobile. It is not fool proof though as when she is out of area or on another mobile call, a pottential customer is directed to a vodafone voicemail service Any ideas? Dave
