I am considering the Scantronic ion-16 or the Texecom Premier. Any advice/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Get a visonic powermax from gardiners. Comes practically pre-programmed.

And there's me believing Gardiners claim that they are strictly trade.

ADI will sell to your granny over here ........

Visonic powermax .... easy peasy to program

in case you want an intruder alarm system you should get a wired system.

If you need protection only from occasional drunk who ran out of booze wireless will do ok.

As much as I like the Texecom Premier Panel, don't get it for wireless, wired  , wireless

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

I have considered the Visonic powermax, but I would much prefer a hard-wired bell box & RKP.

ion16 then

you can have a hardwired bell on a powermax but not a hardwired keypad.
