I've recently replaced an existing Omnicron 7000 panel with a Veritas 8 panel after chatting with a few guys on here. They did recommend a new bell box at the time which I took onboard that I might have to do later but I was just after replacing the panel to get the system back to be able to arm it. Question is now that I've got the panel installed, the bell box (which is still the old A1 bell box) is now giving out a quiet high-pitched whistling noise. Going through the install tests it seemed to be fine. Anyone any thoughts on why it's quietly whistling like this? My thought is it's just knackered...but if it's just wiring then... Or, if I did look for a replaceme…

Hello, I need to replace the door contacts on my front and back door. The FRONT door has 6 different coloured wires (Black, Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, White). The BACK door only has 4 different coloured wires (Black, Red, Blue, Yellow). I have bought two new 5 terminal contacts. I need to know which wires go to which contact and which wires in particular are paired together. Thanks.

this post was reported to me and upon reading it i have decided to close it as technical information is being given out in public forums which is a serious no no!!! all technical issues must be in the appropriate trade section only, if you are not a trade member either apply for membership if you are in the trade or by al means post here to find an installer in your area who could come out and see to your problem Thanks

I've just installed a texecom panel at home and there doesn't seem to be enough connectors on the panel. Is it usual to connect the tamper circuit in series using those little plastic conector blocks with just the ends of the chain connected to the panel? It doesn't seem like a very elegant way of doing things. I have 3 PIR's and 2 smoke detectors (not extravagent for a domestic install I'd have thought)all of which need power but the panel connectors aren't able to take 5 wires - so again I had to use the plastic block connectors. Do more expensive panels have more connectors for things like this or have I missed something?

I'm about to install TS100 bellbox to Texecom Excel. Wondered what the best order to power up from eng mode the bellbox and panel whilst minimising the earful of bellbox sounder. I note there is an ENG terminal on TS100 but not sure how/if I should be using this with a Texecom Excel

Hi everone, sometime last year i completed a course to install alarms, not needed probably but i hadnt a clue about them. All we really ever done was a little practical and lots of theory. Im very familar with how all the bits and pieces are installed properly, but the only thing that gets me is routing the cable so well that it is not rarely ever seen. Would any of you have any pics or web sites whom go into detail with how this is achieved, maybe even pictures of installations you have done. Thank's.

I have an old-but-functional Aritech panel. I recently got uPVC windows in the front of the house which meant removing the shock sensors so the window guys could work. I need to run the cables back and get new shock sensors (old ones were brown - need white ones now). Picture is attached. Some very basic questions... - Do I need to get Aritech sensors or are they interchangeable with (possibly better) makes? - My old cables were tacked with cable clips but I've noticed that some sort of adhesive seems to be used these days. Much neater. Anyone know what kind of adhesive it is? - I also have a vertically mounted Aritech shock sensor on the patio door which causes quite…

Morining Everyone! Following on from my previous post on the Infinite alarm by ESP, I've contacted an NSI Gold registered firm who installs the ESP Infinite Class 5 alarm, along with other wireless and wired systems. They state that its a superb system with an extremely good wireless coverage - better than the equivalent from Bosch. They have installed quite a few of these and have only had one problem which was caused by the wireless bell module being struck by lightning. Since the last post, has any other installer had any dealings with this alarm? If so.. 1) How did you find the reliability of the alarm? 2) Did you get any false alarms? 3) Are you a professional…

Hi guys and girls (got to be PC)lol. My boss has sprung this little gem on me i've got to travel to one of our away workshops and install this panel. At the moment he doesn't want it going through a communicator as the the workshops are sandwiched between two inhabited company owned buildings but that could change when i get there. My problem is this the system will comprise 5 pirs, 2 door contacts, panic button, sounder. All i want the system to do is arm using a code from either door on entry/exit maybe push to set button, allow access to LCD keypad from 2 of the Pir's the rest will be immediate zones may add smoke detectors at later date. In the instruction manual it m…
