After a lot of research it appeared that there were only 2 well respected systems for DIY wireless system - Powermax and Infinite. Finally choose Powermax. Should be able to install in an hour or two. Unfortunately, once powered up for worktop set-up system using <Next> button after <Ready> system toggles between <Normal Mode> and <User Settings> and back again, and again, and again..... According to instruction booklet it should move on to <Installer Mode> Without this I can't do anything. Has anyone experienced this before? Have I got a faulty module? I'm about to send it back for a refund and try the Infinite. Any suggestions woul…

I have an optima xm system that was installed in 1995. It at present has zones 1 and 2 lit up and will not arm/set. I have entered customer code to set but nothing. I have omitted zones 1 and 2 and it appears to set as normal but no alarm activates when I walk through house etc. I have reset to factory settings in a bid to cure problem but still no change. Could anyone advise me on what to do without having to call out an engineer.

Hi guys, My brother has an Accenta G3 system and has had some trouble setting it recently. I traced the problem to a blown 13Volt fuse for powering the PIRs, which was in turn caused by shorted cables on gripper rods. Anyway I've run new cable under the floor for all the PIRs and am ready to hook up them on the PCB. Could anyone tell me how to correctly power down the system. I have already tried isolating the mains then removing the battery from the system but of course the bell box then sounds. I do know the engineer's code to prevent tamper alarms, but would prefer not to have to disconnect the battery inside the bell box too. Can anybody help? Matt.

How do you reset a panic button which has accidently been set off? The panic button looks like it needs a key inserted to reset it. There are no other identifing marks on the panic button except two large red buttons at the top and a small hole with red marker in it beside the key hole on the face. We have recently moved into the house and the previous owner didn't leave the key! Can these be bought? The button is linked up to a veritas 8 compact which will not set because the panic button zone is unsecure. Thanks for any help, andypandy

I have a Menvier TS900 panel with three Elmdene///.National Installer.// type bell box sounders (Yellow hexagonal). My problem is I am getting an intermittent fault with the Aux/Bell Tamper circuit which is activating... In the panel there is an Aux Tamper circuit which I don't use and is linked out.. My guess is that the fault is from the Tamper Return (TR-) circuit... The fault only appears in very hot weather. Could this be a faulty bell box sounder? I have temporary linked the Tamper return circuit to negative and I haven't seen the fault for days now... Any help would be appreciated.. Steve

I have a Scantronic 9800 installed by myself in 1991. No problems over the years but now the external surge purge has blown. Whilst a new one was on order, in engineering mode, I removed mains and battery power from the control panel to by-pass the surge purge. When I restored both mains and battery power to the panel, although there is power going into the 2 remote key pads, the green power light is not illuminated nor is the red service LED. Therefore I am unable to key 99 to get out of engineering mode. I have tried to reboot the RKPs by powering the control panel down, waiting 10 mins and then powering up. I have also tried removing each of the wires on the back of th…

juleselspeth@hotmail.com C & k securitech: securit 800L control panel when trying to set the alarm at night, the system would normally sound a continous low pitch beep then a chime at the end to indicate that it has set. Instead, it emits a louder sound and will not stop unless the set is cancelled so I can't use the alarm at night. It is setting fine during the day. Could anyone help with this? Many thanks
