Hi. I am hoping that someone can give me a steer on this one. I am working for a client who is transferring maintenance and monitoring to me from an existing provider. A couple of their sites are CSL dualcom systems. The previous company has written to CSL allowing the change over. Can someone tell me the steps needed to take over from this point. Its not something I have done before. I look forward to your thoughts.

Hi I recently replaced my alarm system with an Accenta Gen 4 metal box with two remote keypads, as a replacement for the old one which kept giving false alarms, however the old keypads used to only light up if any key is pressed or a sensor is activated when the unit is set, and then go out after about 10 seconds of inactivity. The new ADE LED keypads I installed constantly remain on, so what I'd like to know is, is this a normal condition for the keypads to remain permanently on?

Hi all wonderif you can help me, I have a optima plus 2 alarm panal and when the alarm sirens the bellbox dosn't. the strobe however, does flash. I've gone into engineering mode and run the test on both the strobe and the bell. Strobe works fine but not the bell. I've even tried a different core of wire but still the same. changed the fuse that said Bell/Strobe also. So, i thought the bell had died. I brought a new bellbox and im still getting the same results. this panal was installed in 97 so its quite old and normaly, i'd get a new one fitted but we are looking to move house by this time next year so rather then get a new one i thought id try and get this s…

Hi We are a small company involved with installing various types of commercial security systems (CCTV, Access Control, etc), but have secured a project involving two gate automation's and are looking for a small partner to work with us on this and future projects of this type in the Greater Manchester area. I say small as we still want to front the installation and avoid logoed vans, etc. Please PM me if you are interested in this and possibly other types of security installations for projects that we are currently securing. PS. I hope I have posted in the correct section! Regards Craig

Hi guys I have a scantronic 9600 in my house, very old system I know but still works fine.I will be installing another bellbox for the back of my house (flashguard Xl). Ideally I would like this sounder on sab just like the front bell box which is also a flashguard xl for maximum volume. I am unsure how much current the bell and strobe output is for this panel? From the 9600 manual It says the maximum current that can be drawn from the system is 1250ma @20 degrees or 800@ 40 degrees ambient temperature. I have taken a current measurement for my alarm and it is 240ma in standby and 729ma in full alarm currently. So do you think it would be safe to install the …

hi I have a Menvier 9651 alarm and since the carpet fitters cut through the wires, literally 1 sec after warned to avoid the wires, my alarm won't set. It just flashes Done 01 z01 zone open z01. I have managed to set it twice but its taken me 4 or 5 attempts before it did it correctly. I had someone come in and solder the wires back together so I don't know if thats the problem or if its the connectors at the door. I have checked the connectors and they seem fine but to be honest, I wouldn't know what to look for anyway. There is a gap between them and always has been and they are on tight to the door and frame, so I guessing it maybe the wi…

Hiya Guys. We've had a spate of burglaries in the area in the past few weeks and even though I have a 6 camera cctv setup I thought it best to also fit an Alarm. As a gadget freak I was ready to push the button on an Agility3 but then I stumbled across this forum So I'm here to ask for help navigating the minefield. I need a wife friendly system that I can arm/disarm via an app and also record CCTV in the event of a trigger. Ideally wireless....We've just renovated and dont want any wires on show (Actually if were quick we could go wired downstairs but time is running out)

Hi all I have got another question for you. I am debating whether I should use the flashguard xl, xtra twin piezo bellboxes (I am talking about newer flashguards sounders, not the old single piezo XL module), or the risco novagard 2 twin piezo bellbox. Which one of the two is louder and more efficient? Thanks.

We moved into our house about 6 years ago and there was an ADT alarm fitted. We chose not to continue using them, mainly as the salesman was so sleazy it put us off. The alarm has mostly been working fine since then, but now it has started going off randomly. I contacted the local alarm and lock company in the high street, but they said they couldn't do anything unless the alarm had been engineer unlocked. I contacted ADT about getting this done and they said I would have to pay £250 for them to unlock it (which seems extortionate and I am reluctant to do). Can anyone give me advice on what my potential next steps could be? Is there anyway to unlock it wit…

Ok, so like a dingbat I removed the front of the main control box, not realising that there was a tamper alarm that was activated, requiring me to turn off the alarm using the control panel. I'm a wally. But now the display on the control panel says "UNSET ALARMS.......T" with the 'T' flashing. I can't remove the message despite typing in my 4-digit PIN or pressing RESET. Any ideas what I can do?

Hi, I have a Veritas r8 in my new house, but my daughter comes in through the back door after school. If I set the magnetic sensor at the back door to entry/exit, what happens if another zone that is in in guard is triggered? As she will have to walk to the front door where the keypad is. Thanks

Hello I was fitting a laminate floor today and whilst using an oscillating power tool to cut out the architrave I cut through a hidden alarm wire. This has happened many times over the years (occupational hazard) and having installed a few Optimas and Accentas in the past so I do not usually have a problem (ie solder, insulate, reset tamper). But today that all changed after cutting through the wire there was no give at all to repair the wire. Had to take up a lot of flooring and sub floor, then soldered and heat shrinked it. The alarm panel is showing: Exp 01 Tamper / Reset Required so couldn't do usual reset. My customer has give me a couple days to fix it. H…
