NEXUS 8 *** WHAT'S RIGHT WITH IT??

Featured Replies

Just a follow up really.... I think it could be taken the wrong why to post on the other nexus debate as to what's wrong with it.... as we're all verbally bashing the poor thing, can anyone pick any good points with it..... I feel this is going to be a very empty thread.... but for political reasons maybe it's a good idea

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

you could always use the endstation for holding the door open. :)

Service Engineer and all round nice bloke :-)

The views above are mine and NOT those of my employer.

Just to get things in perspective.

I was never a Nexus 8 lover, I was a novice and newbie who had installed one, maybe in error.

I tried to find out what the problems were with the N8 and so far, out of all the replies, only the review link has done that.

Maybe better if the subject was allowed to drop.

The system works fine, the programming is easy and it works fine(so far).

The review is not all doom and gloom so I may just be happy.

No more from me on this subject.

CUL guys .............. Glangarnant :whistle::whistle::whistle:

Woops, He dont seem to happy about the views on his beloved nexus

Can't say I have ever had any dealings with one but then again my suppliers dont sell diy kit

Good Points:

1: 8 Zones, 8 Zone Tampers, 8 Aux Terminals

2: Easy to program

3: Easy to work on

4: Double push PA on keypad

Bad Points:

1: !!.Will set with zones open.!!

2: Too easy to default

3: Keypad Design

4: End Station Design

5: Available at Maplins

We used to fit them, and out of about 200, 25% went faulty within a month. About 5% had the keypads blow-up? within a year.

The system will set with a zone(s) open, or zone fault(s). On E/E time out it FORCE SETS ommiting any open zones.

Way too easy to default:
