NEXUS 8 PANEL

Featured Replies

 Following a recent posting about installing a Nexus 8 Panel it is quite obvious that the profession is not keen on it.

Considering that this section of the forum is to guide us "newbies" maybe comments like "s***t" are not much use.

I have installed the system ..... 2 door switches, 8 PIR's, 2 Keypads and a dialler and "to me" it works fine.

It would help a newbie though if the comments would have been a bit more specific.

It would help if I knew why the Nexus 8 is considered to be "s***t"

What are it's faults

If they are serious faults then changing the control panel would not be a big deal.

If you can't post them on the forum then mail me direct.

TIA ........... Bernard

I dont know anything about the nexus so I wanna know what the letters are behind the stars!

:( Not sure myself.

Thus the posting ??

If I have installed a duff bit of gear it would help if I knew why it's duff.

Hi, right to get one thing straight... this isn't ment to come across as me being an arguementive t**ser but..... I'm trying to be of some help.

Personally I don't think the nexus is programming friendly, some worthwhile options aren't in there, secondly it's a cheapo version in my personal opion.... probabally somewhere between b&q and an optima.... only with the optima at least you've got something worth having.

Nexus are cheap... nasty, plasticy, prone to fault of a muititude of varity from false alarms to freezing and so on in my dealings with them.... a panel I really hate and I suggest that they should be left in the maplin shop they came from. Any "proffessional" company installing them would certainly not get through my door!

Umm.... ok.... you could have a ford escort (optima) ... or a 1800's old cra*py skoda (nexus)...., I'm talking the old orange skoda pieces of junk that you don't see anymore because they're all in the scrap yard!!!!

PLEASE don't stick up for them as am I'm sure everyone will pull them to pieces.... it's a personal view but I'm sure it'll be shared by many an installer worldwide!
