Do any of you guys know of any places that stock Texecom products, rather than ordering and having to wait through my wholesaler? I need petwise PIR's and ideally would like to get them from somewhere in Nottingham but I do travel a lot so if I need to I can get them elsewhere I just don't want to wait. I also need an internal sounder and door contacts but I guess I can get these from any wholesaler really.

Hi foks, I have an alarm panel in my house which says 'accenta 8 mini' on it, so I presume its an accenta 8 alarm system in the house. we have PIR's and 1 door sensor in the garage. The problem I have is that we have converted the garage, and the builders have removed the door which had the alarms door sensor on it, and plastered over the other terminal - its now a window. Is there a way I can find out which cable going to the alarm panel is for that sensor, and can I just remove it from the panel ? or How can i find out which 'zone' is that sensor to omit it. to complicate things further there are no instructions with the alarm. I have looked at the honeywell …

Hi again, Flushed with the success of my last post, here's question number 2... Can anyone point me in the direction of a guide to anti-masking and End-Of-Line signalling? The terms appear a lot in product literature, but I can't find a resource that explains what they're all about... is it all about the resistance of the circuit indicating the detector/fault condition? Many thanks, Ol

Hi again, Before I start looking into reprogramming my Premier 48 panel I have a question that may save me lots of time. My setup is 4 areas, area a = upstairs, b = downstairs, c = workshop, d = fire. When I set the alarm from upstairs it arms b and c When I set the alarm from downstairs it arms a, b and c I want to add a keypad in the workshop and setup so that the alarm is always set on area c. Arming and disarming from the upstairs and downstairs turns on and off the house but can't disarm the workshop. Does that make sense? Please if anyone can help? Many thanks.

Never been back since not on Maintenance or anything Customer reports panel smells of burn and has stopped working. Went down to have a look and found this WTF The customer said they could not see the buttons at night so hubby fitted a light to the front of the panel and connected it to the battery leads. To anyone who is interested?... 1. I brought a Intellisense Alarm system which included all the basic bits, Control Box, 2 x PIR, Bell Box, Dummy, Door latches and a roll of 8 core. The pack up did not come with many instructions! 2. I laid the 8 core while I was ripping out the ceilings in my house to rennovate it, I led them all to where the control box was going to be and asked a friendly electrician to provide a fused mains power supply from my consumer board. 3. Attached brackets to the walls for the PIRs, attached the door latch and the bell boxes. I then wired the system and followed the scant installer instructions to power up the system. 4. I have te…

Hi, 1. Page 22 of the manual says "It is also possible to program which part set(s) will cause the zone type to change" I cannot see how this can be done. Have I missed it somewhere in the manual. 2. It appears to be possible to use ALL codes 21, 22 and 23 to set ALL zones to change. e.g. Zones 1-8 can be set in 21 AND 22 AND 23 all at the same time. Presumably there is a requirement to set a zone in either 21 or 22 or 23 an keep your eye on where you have set it. Again, am I missing something. Thanks, andytw

Hi, Have just installed a Veritas 8. All is fine but when I do a part set I just get a clicking noise rather than a bleep. Silent part set is not enabled. Internal volume is turned up. When panel has been set with part set then when an an entry is made it causes the same clicking rather than an entry tone. Should part set give the same exit/entry tones as full set ?? Thanks, andytw

I have a Pyronixs Sterling 10 alarm system that I've installed over 5 years ago. Up until a couple of months ago everything was fine but when you now activate the alarm system either through an activation by a panic alarm or PIR there is a delay before the bell sounds which can be between 10-30 minutes. Ive checked the Bell box itself and its fine so beleive it's the main control unit. Before I go and replace the main control unit I wanted to know if anyone may know what the fault may be. Many thanks

I've noticed only recently that following a power failure my Gardtec 370 alarm would sound - displaying the "Fb" message on the keypad. Thought i'd need to just change the battery until I came to the control panel (plastic cabinet type) to find it faintly humming. Looking closely at the door of the cabinet I noticed a small burn mark which felt quite hot to touch. I opened the control box to find one of the components on the circuit board half burnt out. I'm no expert but it looks like some sort of "metal film" resistor. Anyway not sure what caused this - I've had the house from new and the systems about 6.5 years old - so perhaps age? I've got myself an new metal type ca…
