cheers mate just phoned hes gunna send me a form said hes just taken on 2 lads but you never know at least ill be on file
thats a barsteward, did you not appeal? due to you job. i have a good mate on 15 points, but do to him needing to drive for his trade[engineer like us] he was pardoned so to speak.

ps: i'm just down the road, who were you working for? Have you tried GB

15 POINTS AND HE IS STILL DRIVING????.....both plod and a friend of mine who is a solicitor claims you cannot sit on over 12 don't know how he gets away with it.....job or not(as far as i am aware) it is 12 and you are out...mind you after 3 points you would slow down....would'nt you..????

you can plead for your licence and depnds on the magistrate and what you have done etc. I have heard tell of 15 or even 18 points. I have been banned for 12 months myself so can fully understand what he is going through. Its not so much that you do it on purpose but when your doing proper mileage with the time pressures we have it is easy to happen. I do about 50K a year and currently have 6 points. All from cams. 33mph regardless and your done. Doesnt matter 3am in the morning trying to get th the call or school rush hour all the same to the gatso

James i am with you and i do similar mileage to you and i do agree...i got done for doing 45 in 40 mph....thing is the road i got done on had a 70 mph limit 12 months before, and i don't see the danger in doing 10 mph over the top on a motorway but in a road with a school in it thats a different matter

This goverment come out with the slogan 'speed kills'.i can tell you it does'nt,bad driving kills, speed in relation to road condition that exsist at that time is safe :drive1:

Tell someone your banned from driving and they automatically think for dangerous driving or drink driving etc.

Unfortunately in this trade a driving licence is almost essential, I hope you can find a suitable job still in the trade that doesn't require that you have a licence.

I used to also do between 50k and 80k a year, was 50 miles just getting to the office every morning and I did cover the country. I got to 9 points on my licence and that was enough to slow me right down, only had 9 points for a month as the first 3 were about to come off. That was a few years ago though and there was nothing like the amount of speed cameras and traps there are now.

You should try an appeal, some areas you can take a 1 day course rather than taking the points, you only get one chance at it, it has been mentioned here before maybe someone can provide a web site fo rthe info.

Have you thought about employing an apprentice with a driving licence and going to do subby work?

As for potential employers point of view, I use to have a guy working for me who had been banned for driving for 18 months for Drink Driving. He was only 21 and was very sorry for his actions. He was a brilliant employee as he was very grateful for me giving him a job. We were a smaller company then so I drove him around but we got the jobs finished quick! Unfortunately after 12 months he left and decided to do some travelling!

I owned up to a speeding ticket before xmas i was doing 35 in a 30 (the lowest you can trigger the camera off at) i sat a speeding seminar last week so's not to get any points on my licences i have been upto 9 but am now clean its a real nightmare points on your licence the officer taking the course said he and most of colleagues disagree with safety cameras as they dont take into account the conditions and reasons for people speeding,

He said he actually stopped a car doing 74.5mph in a 30 zone whilst he was a traffic cop and when he pulled the car he said it was the biggest mistake he made that day, as the blokes wife in the passenger seat was giving birth!!! so he escorted him to the hospital and let him off.

Make no mistake though speeding kills.
