August 10, 200322 yr comment_1683 Hello I have a system with a Veritas 8C control unit. I recently had my back door replaced and the fitter wrecked the old contact sensor. The alarm is currently disabled as it won't set. Can I fit an IR sensor in place of the contact and how will I recommission the system? I don't have a manual. Many thanks to anyone who can help. August 10, 200322 yr comment_1684 It all depends on how the installer wired it up in the first place. How many cores are in the cable supplying the door contact ? 4 or 6? You really need 6 cores to swap the contact for a PIR. PM me your email address and ill email you a copy of the manual, was it installed prior to 2001 ? ........................................................
