Help ! Quit my cushy job with Chubb Systems (Not F&S) APSS, Adacs, Obass, S5 etc. Started with a new company which I hate. Offered a new job but I have 2 months to learn the Galaxy Dimension inside out. Never installed or commissioned one, done basic fault finding on it, PM etc Never been on a course (Chubb don't believe in training).( I can hear you all going HaHaHa) Got the manuals found some basic Honeywell vids on You tube Gonna get a Dimension panel (any advice on cheapest source in Hampshire) Has anyone an idea where I can obtain further training materials. Thanks in advance I Hope !

Hi intruder alarm people,,, storminI think my message to Service Engineer has got lost so will do again. Hi Service Engineer ,, Stormin here,,,I am a newbie ,,,I have been fitting alarms for the last 18 months but this one has got me well beaten. Logic 4. polycarb box,,, 2 zone plus entry/exit. key turned to full set ,,entrance/eit ,,,2 pirs,,,1 PA is all there is connected ,,I wanted to make sure all was well before fitting the sounder and strobe,,, All tamper lights go off on full set but no eit or entry buzzer sound from the unit. Any help would unscramble my brain for the next alarm to be fitted. Don,t like being beaten but would bow to your superior knowledge.

Hi All, We're new to this sort of social thing. We've got new management following the retirement of company founder David Grant. First job was to get rid of that old website (was dire!) and launch a more user friendly version - - We have a few new products in the pipeline but what are your thoughts on a battery tester for 3.6V Lithium batteries used in PIRs? The original GOLD IBT battery tester (smaller one) is back too... Hi welcome to the forum please take a look at the forum rules before posting thanks http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/site-rules-and-disclaimer.html

I have a paragon plus alarm (already installed when I moved into the house). I have turned off the electric plenty of times in the past and the alarm has never sounded. I need to turn off the power to wire up some new sockets in the kitchen (which are not on a separate circuit) but whenever I do this now the alarm sounds and the panel has no lights lit up so the only way to stop it sounding is to turn the power back on. I have tried searching on line for a solution and seem to think this may be a problem with the battery in the alarm needing replacing. Does anyone have anything to offer or can they advise whether this seems correct? Any help would be greatly appreci…

I am about to purchase a new alarm system as my current one is outdated and i am paying through the nose for annual service. As i have just decorated the whole house I really would like to avoid a load of new wiring going round the place. Are the current wireless systems used by major installers now reliable. I would be gratfeul for any tips.

Dan from Berkshire here. I am a control room engineer and some of my duties are to maintain and fault find on the fire systems within our facility. The main facility has 13 minerva panels and over 500 fire zones. I have been maintaining fire systems for some time now but im more technical, so I am still learning the regulations and politics. Ive Worked for the same company for 14 years so its good to see how others address some of the same issues we are encountering. I have also worked on security systems cameras/IDS/CACS during my time as an apprentice. Im finding the forums very informative already. Thanks Dan

Hello everybody. Just a quick line to say hi, and a little about me. I graduated in the 70's and I've been an engineer all my life, mainly electronics and later mechanics. I'm retired disabled now. I've installed a couple of alarms over the years, mainly the wireless ones. Now realised the error of my ways, I come seeking knowledge from those who know their way around wired systems, as it's 35 years since I last stared a wired system in the face. I need to learn enough to send my boy round the house with cutters and screwdriver. Any help given will be gratefully received. I'll post any questions hopefully in the correct topic but please be patient with my spelling as …
