June 4, 201312 yr comment_325722 I have a paragon plus alarm (already installed when I moved into the house). I have turned off the electric plenty of times in the past and the alarm has never sounded. I need to turn off the power to wire up some new sockets in the kitchen (which are not on a separate circuit) but whenever I do this now the alarm sounds and the panel has no lights lit up so the only way to stop it sounding is to turn the power back on. I have tried searching on line for a solution and seem to think this may be a problem with the battery in the alarm needing replacing. Does anyone have anything to offer or can they advise whether this seems correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! It's driving me mad. June 4, 201312 yr comment_325724 I would share the view it is a battery issue. The noise presumably is coming from the outdoor siren which has it's own battery in it. This would explain why the panel is blank but the bell rings. New battery time. Simple enough task to do. June 4, 201312 yr comment_325927 Just isolate the mains before you delve into the panel. You do not know how safe it is inside. No hot sweats or anything like that ? But yes as others have said isolate the mains and be careful. Remember the correct polarity for the battery terminals .
