Hi all, I have been servicing Intruder, door access systems and CCTV and access systems for the last thirteen years. Mainly high end (and some very low end ) commercial installs plus the odd bit of house bashing. Looking forward to adding as much as I take from this forum! Kind Regards WingNUT

Evening, I'm Tom, not a qualified electrician by any means, but I mess about with radio control, house electrics and other odds and sods and since I'm currently fitting my first burglar alarm and have a few questions I'd thought I'd try here. , Tom.

Good evening everyone, and thanks for accepting my registration ! I hope someone on here can help ! I have recently purchased a new house, and after doing pretty much every job going on it for the past few months, todays job was to install the alarm finally (strange, but I quite like installing alarms - I have put one or two in before) My system is not complex, since the house is not massive, as its my first one. Just so everyone is in the "loop" (sorry for the pun...., here's the specs) Optima Compact panel (Honeywell) 2 PIRs (Honeywell) 2 door contacts External siren (Kinetic AZ-TECH AZ-2000) Ok, so I ve wired up all the zones (both at the sensor end and panel e…

Hi My skill is in telecoms and network cabling and, due to this, a friend has asked me to help. His Karisma Plus system developed a fault and it seems this brand is discontinued. Another company has been out and played around with the wiring a little and said there's nothing they can do with the current configuration due to the fact that the wiring is radial and each zone or sensor/magnetic contact is identified by an ID 'biscuit'. The system had worked well for seven or eight years but has never been serviced. He was told at the time that the system was complete overkill for the size of his house but, as it was already installed when he bought the house, he didn't hav…

Just a quick note to say I'm new here. I don't know anything about alarms but I do know that I have a 8SP 401 Accenta G3 with remote LED keypad in the house I have bought. The previous owners did not leave any manuals for the alarm, or anything else for that matter I have searched the download section and see that there is a download here - http://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/files/file/124-g3-user-manual/ but I do not have permission to download it - how do I gain permission? Thanks for any replies/advice
