Hi, I am looking at a intellisense securit 800l alarm pannel with keypad with 7 or 8 pirs and 3 door contacts, I am worried about wiring because we live in a house with lanninate flooring in most rooms and we will have to put the wires along the cielings is this normal? Also about the control pannel and zones, i am new to alarm systems and dont know what the wiring on the pannel will be like, will it have specific sockets for each zones and things like siren and internal sounder or is it guesswork? is it easy and simple to wire? As much advice would be much apprecieted Thanks

I have recently installed a wired alarm system within my home. I have bought an inexpensive ADE Optima G3 Compact controller (with compatable RKP), Texecom PIR's & a Texecom Bell Box (SCB). I tested the system upon installation inline with the ADE test process charts and everything was clear. After test I programmed the system for a 20 second door entry requirement. That's it. There were no problems for several days of use. Yesterday my wife returned home to find the alarm had gone off. On entry to our home she observed that on entering the user code the sytem started to activate, from this I can only deduce that the sounder had activated by it's own accord. Was …

Can anyone help please? I have had an Optima XM alarm in the home working well for years. I needed to move its location which involved joining on to the original cabling to lengthen it. I have wired it the same as I have taken it off(i think) but the alarm will not now set. The exit bleeping is continuous and it shows a fault in zone 1. Zone 1 covers two rooms and in one of the rooms the sensor is not illuminating. I have rechecked the wiring and it seems ok. Any ideas please. Many thanks, Jim Atkinson

Good practice or not to also run a door bell button to a spare zone on your panel, and have that zone set to chime. Seems to me to be a good idea, especially if you have numerous keypads and speakers all over the house. No more missed visitors. , Steve

Hi All, I have maintained many aritech alarms, but never actually installed a bellbox. Before I do my first I thought I would ask for advice rather than have it blast my ear off on top of a ladder!!! Anyway, I have an ASTEC 620 that I plan to connect to Aritech CS250 panel. The bellbox has the following connections available: 1) Supply + 2) Supply - 3) Sounder - 4) Strobe - 5) Tamper Return 6) Tamper Return (think a resistor is required accross 5&6?) 7) Negative Hold off The first thing that would be great would be to confirm the correct wiring from the bellbox to the panel (please dont spare details and let me know if there are any special settings on the b…

Can anyone tell me how to remove the panel on a Aritech CP42 alarm? It is probably like many others and looks as if it clips on but I don't want to force anything just in case.

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get hold of an SD2 install/user manual. I tried to get one from Menvier's web site (http://www.menviersecurity.co.uk/templates/datasheet.asp?lArticleID=945) but you can only download it if you are a security professional or an installer. I'll drop them a mail too, but was hoping someone might have one lying around. , -simon

Hi, New to this site, but from reading through various threads I think I know straight off the views of some of you regarding wireless, but for various reasons (time, budget, wife, budget...) I think a DIY wireless solution is the only one that will fit my needs. I don't need something that does the whole home automation thing - just sound the alarm when required and maybe send a text message/voice message at the same time. BT have their VP1000 home monitor kit which looks quite good (available for

Having now replaced the 12 year old battery and not yet having the system checked out professional this appears to have done the trick thanks. (see earlier posting ) However some zones remain lit on the control panel indicating open zones. Firstly the pir do not illuminate as you pass in front the + and - are connected and the fuse is ok in the control panel. I then removed the connection to the zone and fitted a link the led went out indicating panel not faulty? if i twist together the two wires which connect the detector to the zones the led stays on if the link is removed? My main concern is that pir are not detecting movemnt since having the initial problem with…

Can anyone advise with regard to my AJ600 alarm system withan A1 Omnicron control panel. the mains on and day light were illuminated as normal but on setting the alarm code, the keys failed to beep in response and consequently the alarm could not be set. I have since removed the cover to check the 2 fuses and these are ok. On taking out the 2nd fuse this activated the alarm bell, the fuses were replaced, the keypad was then responsive however the internal sounder was also activated but I was unable to stop the two alarms. The outside bell stopped after 3 mins which is what it is set for and the internal sounder stopped after 20 mins. During this time the DAY light was …

Hello all - new here, so not sure where this should go, so putting it in here - so if I have put this in the wrong area, please let me know, and I'll move it. Anyway. Recently, my parents house had a spate of break-ins and they live right in the sticks, and I knew already the security in my own house is extremely poor - some of you might have a heart attack if you saw my house Anyway, that has prompted me to improve security in my house now rather than later - have started the progress, but have also decided to install a burglar alarm. My main fear is false alarms - obviously if a system has too much false positives, it's going to be ignored by my neighbors and myse…
