Apollo Detectors

"The Series 65 range of conventional detectors incorporates well-proven sensing technologies, together with advances in materials and electronics technology. A wide operating voltage of 9 to 33V DC means that Series 65 detectors can be integrated into security systems when used with a relay base."

Available from Gardiners etc......

:) yes this is true.

yes you do need to use a smoke detector, texecom make the panel.

the panel will need to be programmed, the zone you put the smoke detector on, will need to be programmed fire, you need the engineers code for this. (probabily the service of a local engineer).

from the manual

3.10.1.4 Fire %

This Zone Type is designed specifically for smoke detectors. Zones with this Zone Type are

monitored constantly even when the panel is unset. If activated they will cause a unique alarm with a

distinctive 'fire' tone on the internal speaker. In addition, the external sounder will be pulsed rather

than sounding continuously in contrast to a normal alarm.

You can fit smokes to nearly any intruder panel that has been made in the last 10 years, as long as it has a fire zone type, or if you are not already using it, a 24hr or PA zone (bit of a bodge tho)

As long as it isn't monitored...............
