I know you can mix double pole and EOL wiring on each zone on a Texecom Premier. Is this configured purely on the wiring of the zone, as there does not appear to be any zone setting that determines this.

Guys, I have purchased a couple of door contacts and I am finding it difficult to get hold of any documentation. It's standard surface contact with five connectors it appears 1, 3, 5 are the same and 2 and 4 are for the magnetic contact. There is no label for Alarm or Temper, any ideas. link to the part http://www.alertelectrical.com/product.asp...bID=0&prodID=26

Hey, Im thinking about what I need for a new system and I am wondering why you cant just use vibration sensors on the doors/windows. Why could/should you use the magnetic sensors aswell? I mean if the window is forced open or smashed that should set off the vibration sensor, are there cases that wont set it off but the magnetic one would go off? thanks for any help!

Hello all, As some of you may know, i have installed a galaxy 8plus with a nice new //.National Installer.// keypad. I have got the system up and running, but, now i would like to install a RIO. I have the RIO sited, and wired to my detectors. Then i wired the A & B terminals to the panel, and the power supply. The detectors all power up, and the red LED on the RIO blinks.. Im using the right cable, as i found the type i should use from a previous post. But, the system doesnt seem to be picking any new zones up/modules. I exited engineers mode and it cleared fine.. If anyone could help as to maybe why or how to pick up the new zones, i would be greatful. Ranger

Hi there, Does anyone have any information about the Texecom Premier 48 + TCP/IP Communicator Module and how it works, how to use it etc.... I install many Texecom Premier alarm systems and upto now I have always used the Com2400 for ARC signalling, it would be nice if I could get the signalls over an ethernet network and then over the internet via an ADSL line so as to reduce the number of telephone lines coming in to the ARC. Thanks in Advance, Simon Sparks P.S. If this is possible will I need new software to recieve the signals and if so which software should I get.

hi this is my first post so i would like to thank you for any help in advance as i have very little expirience with alarms especially fault finding. i got a call from a friend who had drilled a hole above fis alarm panel (optima xl4) and had set off the bell. he was unable to reset using the code and called me an electrician. i removed the plaster from around the drilled hole and could see a couple of damaged cables. so i tried to strip the insulation back a twist them together (good as new, hehehe). the problem is when we tried to reset it zones 2 and 3 flash on and the bell continues to sound even with all the electric turned off at the mains. i replaced the sensors…

Hi All Top marks for this great website, it makes a change to see something as well executed as this. I have an //.National Installer.// alarm (purchased by me at un-printable cost) they put a dummy box on the garage for me, I would like to make it live but fitting a sounder of the type used on the main installation. Is it possible to buy the type of sounder they use, if so can you tell me where to get one? Best Regards Paul Black

Hi, I'm trying to connect a Ventcroft Vision Siren Box to my Veritas R8Plus control panel. It is all wired in and the green led flashes but when i try to set the alarm it tells me that there is a tamper circuit fault & i cannot set the alarm. When i set the alarm with the tamper circuit disabled it sets ok but the siren does not go off when it should. When i test the strobe & sounders (from the veritas panel), the line voltages change but the bell box doesn't do anything. I have checked the wiring & it is as i would expect it to be. Does anybody have any ideas please? Thanks ... Martyn

What is the rule in the running of alarm cable? I have only one route to get my alarm cables upstairs and the mains (230v) is running along the same route. So the two types of cables will run parallel to each other for about 3 metres after which i can seperate then fairly well. thanks in advance Scott
