Hi, I am looking at a intellisense securit 800l alarm pannel with keypad with 7 or 8 pirs and 3 door contacts, I am worried about wiring because we live in a house with lanninate flooring in most rooms and we will have to put the wires along the cielings is this normal?

Also about the control pannel and zones, i am new to alarm systems and dont know what the wiring on the pannel will be like, will it have specific sockets for each zones and things like siren and internal sounder or is it guesswork? is it easy and simple to wire?

Don't quote me but unless you are wiring in series this alarm cannot handle that many devices

A bit insulting really asking that question don't you think? What do you do for a living - do you turn up at 9 o'clock and guess your way through the day??

And I've given it - look up local firms in your area, make sure they are approved and get three of them to quote for the work you require.

how many rooms upstairs do you having with laminate flooring?

forgive me i am having a senior moment. yellow pages or similar, three quotes..get a pro in (male or female (PC)(nanny state and all that)).

Can you recommend any pannels/ keypads or is the securit 800l ok? The reason i chose this pannel because i need a proximity reader as we have elderley neighbours and relatives that look after our house while we a re away and they wont like to use a keypad and this pannel has a key switch option.

Most installers will use the same equipment on all jobs - most panels (if not all) have the ability to use prox tags.!

Tidy wiring takes experience and skill - as you appear to be unskilled at this, you can possibly do it, but you might hate what you end up with and it could seriously affect your relationship with your wife!

I would echo the advice to call in some help, it could make all the difference to a potentially disastrous DIY job.
