I think ive found the problem, the fuse protecting the siren has blown, would this stop the siren from ringing but let the system work ok otherwise ?

The sounder is a Texecom. They don't activate until they have had power applied from the control, so if the fuse was blown before the sounder was connected it would still have been in hold off mode.

Thanks very much for the help, that makes sense.

1 last question, anyone got any pointers on where i can get a replacement fuse ?

its labelled f1al250v (5mm by 20mm).

Television repair shop.

Maplins.

Tandy.

My garage.

Buy a second hand car from an alarm engineer and look under the back seat. :P

Sorry to be flippant. I know it was a serious question really. These fuses are very common so you should have no trouble finding one

Paul

:P very funny, thanks for your help mate,

Sorry mate, your right i thought it was a Texecom panel but that was the sounder.

Not sure if the accenta comes with spare fuses i shouldnt have thought so its only good for a door stop.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

How can the panel be showing clear with the bell fuse blown??

As bell fuse = 12v hold off to bell , So if no hold off no tamper return the panel would not be clear it would show a tamper.

Just a thaught.
