Wiring A Door Bell To Alarm System

Good practice or not to also run a door bell button to a spare zone on your panel, and have that zone set to chime. Seems to me to be a good idea, especially if you have numerous keypads and speakers all over the house. No more missed visitors.

cheers,

Steve

As long as you program it properly!

If not every visitor (when you're out) will set your alarm off. :banned:

A nice idea, but my doorbell is hooked into the house PBX anyway so I can find out who's at the door without leaving the comfort of my bed.

Phone: Brrr Brrr Brr

Alex: Urg, What, Arg!

Phone: Do you want to buy some useless ****

Alex: Fluffoffyoubastardyouwokeme <click>

Another part of the installation outside of the protected premises :(

Exactly the same position as an exit terminator, in fact, use an exit terminator as a bell when unset.

Do you put a DT outside to cover exit terminators?

All chubb systems seem to have an exit terminator button - doesn't look too dis-similar to a door bell. Although they do place them high up out of the way on the frames on the ones I have seen.......umm, what if your disabled?
