Hello, I was thinking of connecting a Ventcroft Sound Bomb 2 to my panel. The manual says Bell/Strobe has a max supply of 500mA and AUX 300mA. I currently have a bell box connected which I am sure its in SAB mode. I don't know how many milliamps it pulls since I can't find the manual. The Sound Bomb 2 does not say how much milliamps it pulls. Will it be ok to connect the Sound Bomb or will i be drawing too much from the panel? Thankyou djrock

Hiya , I have moved in to a house which has the Veritas C alarm system, it seemed well until a few weeks ago the tamper went off as I moved a cable (6 wire one) under a floor board which came from the alarm bell box and split into a four way connector cable ......I moved the cable back and put the wires back in the connector ( I'm sure they were in the right order as I'd written them down ) .... reset the system ......but now it seems that zone 1 the front door contact appears open (red on the panel) ......any clues ...... thanks in advance Jim

I installed a veritas 8 system sucessfully about a year ago. Over the past few nights, the alarm seems to turn on the chime function itself (when unset). When trying to set we get double bleeps on key pressing and then the alarm sounds. I know the codes but neither the normal or engineers codes resets the alarm. Only way to turn it off it to kill mains power and dis-connect the battery. All lights 8zones and tamper are lit. Any advice gratefully received. Is a service due, faulty keypad/panel or something totally different? I have now left it off with no power so we do not get false alarms.

Hi I have a Pyronix Sterling Compact 4 zone control panel, Pyronix dual-tech PIR, Intellisense bell box, and a magnetic door contact, which I am going to use to protect a garden office (basically a high-spec shed!). The items were all purchased individually on eBay to keep the costs down, but of course, I don't get an idiots guide to wiring it all up. So I'll apologize now for the silly questions I'm about to ask. I've got most of it sussed, connecting the door contact to zone 1 as Entry/Exit, the PIR to zone 2 as Access, disabling zones 3 and 4. My first question concerns wiring in the two detectors. The PIR will go to AUX+ AUX- T T Z2 Z2. I still need to buy the door …

Hi, I am about to move house and the house has a Scantronics 9800 installed (defunct) I have picked up a Galaxy 16+, 2RKPs and a Texecom Bell secondhand off Ebay. Now I will be changing the sensor wiring as the Galaxy is EOL my question is regards the spec of resistors I will need, specifically the type (power rating). The RKP RS485 Requires 680Ohm termination and the on-board one is rather large and looks like a wirewound, do I need a high power on for the RKP termination or is a Metal Film .6W sufficient. The Zones require a pair of 1KOhm for the EOL and tamper, what rating do these need to be again is Metal Film .6W sufficient. I will be ordering a load from Mapli…

Hi yep I am a DIYer. To date I have been pleased with my BT VP1000 system it being my first intruder alarm. So with this confidence behind me I sought to extend the system with an External Siren. A number of companies are offering the Visonic MCS 700 868 mhz as being the solution. However I can't find any meaningful instruction as to how to get the VP system to recognise the Siren when it sends it recognition signal. The VP software won't go beyond the "Activate external Siren" step. Any help would be much appreciated Nigel

Hello Everyone, I'm a shiny new apprentice for Initial and the engineers have said they think I competent enough to tackle a Scanny for my old man when he wants to get a new alarm. But I have a few questions for all you lot! I want to connect 3 PA's to one zone on the Scanny, now would I be right in thinking I could connect them up to a connector block which you then connect to the two Zone6 terminals?? So all the Blue/Yellow pairs will be connected and then through to the Terminal??? If so would this be the same for the smoke detectors on the Fire ZONE5?? And I'm struggling to get my head round the Global Tamper?? Connect them in series?? Is this each contact to cont…

Hi I hope some one can help with this. Currently have the Accenta G3 pannel and the Ventcroft Vision bell box. I am moving house next week, a rush job thanks to the local kids terrorising the family for the past 2 years, and the Criminal Anti Social Behaviour orders haven't stopped them. Because of this i am trying to find away of decomissiong my alarm system the night before the move - preferably without triggering the sounder/strobe as this will attract the attention of the little toe rags. Based on past experience probbly get all the windows put through that night. ( that information is so that you know i have a genuiene reason for not attracting any attention). …

Going to great lengths to avoid running mains alongside my zone wiring, but how about a couple of Texecom remote keypads? Any dangers of running these with normal zone wiring? I'm assuming there's fairly constant traffic on the interconnect between the keypad and the main unit, so to me, looks like it could be an issue, and I'm currently running them separately. But I'm I going a little over the top perhaps? Thanks, Steve
