Hi, We moved into a property recently and it has a veritas 8c alarm system installed. The owners did not leave a manual for it and only gave us the code when my 3 year old activated the panic button and we phoned the estate agent. Even with the manual (which I think someone on here sent my hubby) we have been unable to set the alarm. I think one reason may be that there used to be a sensor in the bathroom and when we redocrated it we discovered the sensor had been deactivated (wire was cut ) We now are having double glazing installed windows and doors and I'm worried about them removing the door sensors ? I also think the backup battery has now expired (as if there is a…

Could someone please tell me the KEY PAD CODE for Panic/Personal Attack TEST ? I have looked into UG & IM but nothing in it apart from MUST programme it in Part set. WHERE is the backup battery (12V Sealed lead acid gel type) located & HOW can I test it FROM KEY PAD ? AM I right to assume the walk test ( 0 0 ) IS FROM KEY PAD NOT FROM CONTROL PANEL & only applies to test detector devices ? Thanks. I

Does anyone have experience of using this system and an opinion on how good it is? Also do you know if you can use 2 external bell boxes like the Odyssey 1E on the one Wireless Sound Module (WSM). I have tried a few people who aren't sure?! Thanks for your help... Dave

I have tamper light ON and can not set my alarm installed by a company 4 years ago and charged me £700 pounds then including + £70 advance anual service charge but never serviced even once. I have checked all the wiring. PSU has normal green light ON and the BB intact but still TAMPER light does not RESET and can not set the alarm. I have followed the user guide to no success. Grateful if anybody can help with this. An electrician working on the house nipped a wire setting off a "tamper" alarm. My wife constantly re-set and re-set the panel until eventually everything went dead. On advice from a pal we disconnected mains and battery, left it for an hour then reconnected. Now the system refuses to arm, all four zone lights go on and the tamper light as well. All PIRs are dead with no flashing or clicking. No idea what the "Concept System" is or who made it, knowing the previous owner of the house it's something cheap and naff. Any suggestions apart from "call a professional" ? Thanks!

Thanks for the earlier information on my problem. I will get the alarm serviced and a new battery fitted as the tamper alam light is conctantly flashing. Until I can get this done are there any problems with putting the alarm on apart form th internal alarm ringing. If there aren't any does the internal alarm turn off after a certain amount of time?

Dear all After some basic advice on a good wireless system, I know in the past people had concerns with these systems, solar powered ones not being reliable, problems with signals etc. Can anyone recommend a good reliable system for a 4 bedroom house, detached, so probably best to have door window contacts etc? I read about the "Infinite" systems which have the bell boxes connected to the mains in the loft, in addition the MCP is run via the mains, is this best? Alternatively should these wireless systems be avoided and are wired systems the best thing. If anyone could provide details of supplies that would be appreciated! Thanks

I have been in my house for 2 years and I still dont know the code to the alarm system left here. I would like to change it or reset it to factory default so that I can enter my own pin number. The system seems to work fine and will beep whenever a door is opened and display "not ready". Is there any way I can enter the pin and have the alarm actually work in the house without signing up for remote monitoring services? Its a standard //.National Installer.// 1-9 pad with *,#, police and fire. Please help.
