Hi I have been asked by a client to look at a scantronic 9600 keypad . The problem is that if you press any key nothing happens ,apart from a bleep. The keypad appears to have locked . The day date and time are visible . The problem started after a builder removed 2 contacts on a door without telling the owner of the property . I do not know if the two are connected but any advice would be most welcome. Thanks Mark

I'm replacing an old 9448 system in a bungalow with a Texecom Premier 48 with RKPs and new PIRs and fire sensors and new screened wiring throughout. Reading the comment on one of the home pages on this site about being able to disable a system without codes in 30 seconds has made me pause and think about the best place to put the control panel. I'd have to agree that this would seem trivial to do with access to the panel by moving 1 or at most 2 wires, so presumably the answer is to secure the panel. So.... Where do i put it I've considered a locked metal cabinet in the loft, but worry about temperature. What about a lockable metal cabinet in a cupboard? What's a…

I apologise if the is has already been addressed. Last evening we suffered a powercut at home, immediately the outside bell box siren cut in. I went to switch the alarm off at the key pad but their was no power at all to the pad. We had to wait until the siren stopped itself (approx 25 mins) but then no power was at the key pad. Power only came back once the Mains supply was fixed. Is therefore the Battery back up which is dead, the system is 6 years old (we have just moved into the house). As well there was no strobe light operating on the bell box when the alarm was going off, any ideas ?? Should i get a 12v (2.6 - 6ah) Rechargeable battery for staters ?? As we ar…

I want to fit two sensors to maximise coverage of a largish lounge. I've got the Texecom Mirage DT sensors which have PIR and uWave and wonder if anyone has experience of doing this and is it is wise to use two uWave sensors in the same room (do they interfere even if the uWave sensitivity is reduced, and so would it make sense for the second sensor to be PIR only?). Following from this, do you get back-scatter from the uWave transmiitter? If so would this cause a problem if two such devices were effectively back-to-back on opposite sides of the same wall covering two seperate rooms. Hopefully this is the last of the newbie questions for now Colin

Can somebody please help me with my query. I have Scantronic 9448+ SD1 and would like to install broadband first of all I have asked if broadband is compatiable with the alarm and the answer is yes, what my question is the alaram is hard wired into the BT socket (not through a plug) but straigh into the socket. Would I need to to get the hard wired wire connected to a bt plug and then connect this to the Micro Filter or can I just add the micro filter to the socket and connect the modem into the micro filter with the alram still hard wired into the socket ? Any advice/help much appreciated.

Hi Folks, I hope someone can help me set up the correct exit program for my scantronics 9800. I'm finding getting the correct sequence quite fustrating. banghead Zone 1 is the door contact and zone 2 is the hall PIR. I have had each and both set-up as the final exit and exit mode set to both timed and final door. On each occasion when I try to set the full alarm, the alarm sounds and the display shows EF (Exit Fault) and when I enter the user code it shows zone 2 as the problem. My next attempt at programming the correct exit sequence will be Zone 1 as a normal alarm and zone 2 (the PIR) as the Final Exit with the exit mode set to final door. Does anyone know what I …

I have inherited an alarm in my new house. All seemed OK when I first tested. Until my house was burgled and the alarm did not go off. I had a dodgy PIR and that has been swapped - all seems OK now except; 1. I have a problem with the entry/exit zone as it keeps setting the alarm off upon entry. 2. Does anyone have a set of programming instructions they can email me? Thanks

Just a quick rather stupid novice question, When wiring the PIR's to a Texecom premier panel does the 12V supply for the PIR get wired to the Aux 12V ?, I was unsure as this supply is fused at 1amp. All other zone wiring e.t.c is self explanitory. I am assuming the network +/- is dedicated to just the network devices e.t.c unless the zones on the RKP's are utilised. Thanks John.
