  1. AG6 proves the point of hugely popular because it was cheap. Low cost stuff always sells better than premium regardless of the quality. I personally wouldnt go for a pyronix bell but again pyronix is popular...
  2. It definetly isnt I find the opposite. Most hits on pro systems are planned.
  3. Unfortunately we as a trade haven't moved with the times, someone seeing smtp as acceptable shows the misunderstanding. We know what proper signalling is but it isn't understood. OP you should look at signalling as smtp or push or dialler isn't. I feel that the message is lost (intended) If your It a mesaage delayed or failed for x hours is useless to us, we need I'd delivered in ms

  5. no it needs to be coming out of the panel so meter the leads with the battery disconnected. Waiting till the battery has totally failed will usually kill the panel
  6. You may not like the costs but it not a scam. I dont like it but you need to be careful saying its a scam when imo it isnt. What if someone was to say what you do is scam etc.
  7. They are not a scam, but it very well marketed stuff. But again as has been said many times just because something is popular doesnt make it any good. Also bear in mind you understand these systems most people dont care and assume it meets the relevant standards
  8. it wont be 'working fine' it may be functional the only way to reliably check a fuse is with a meter, but if you can see a break on the 13v one that is the aux
  9. Best tell the insurance companies then Also there are reports of wifi jammers being used mainly to disable cctv notifications. IMO most alarms without some form of signalling are a bit useless. Neighbours note the time it rings to complain about the noise. If any burglar knew no one was coming they are going to carry on
  10. not the same as polling and only any use when unset though local failure reporting when armed would be a bit pointless
  11. The phone port is not the same and 99% of alarm systems WONT work with it. If it was the same why are they upgrading etc etc It may work sometimes. I have noticed that sometimes open/close events go through but alarm signals do not etc
  12. Are you sure you have a g3 panel, there were lots of iterations of the optima/accenta
  13. disabled disables the part set, you want it on timed or silent
  14. OK Pete I don't know the gear you are right on the one way thing but I'd of thought a bell is 2 way. ie trigger 1 way tamper the other way. It's a shame 1 way stuff is still in existence
  15. Wireless Bell may allow tamper without sounding a wired one shouldnt
  16. Just dont add you address to the online sale, im not a huge risco fan but id prefer it to any diy grade system
  17. Have a look on youtube how to defeat diy stuff for starters Cheap is never really cheerful
  18. Also we wont go into detail on how to kill a security system you could be prepping for a burglary
  19. As above its the alarn that reported a power issue highly unlikely to be the cause
  20. Still liable for it I'm afraid. But as long as your insurance company is aware. Bear in mind your client isn't the one that will come after you it will be their insurer
  21. I'd check to see if the place that is selling yale alarms cctv etc use them for themselves. You will find they dont
  22. A member of my team at work had an incident last week. 3 people tried to steal his car (mx5) However most of the street have ring doorbell instead of cctv and all of them didnt work during the incident. This isnt the first time ive suspected jamming but is this on the rise?
